Recently my sister and I went out for coffee and the topic of social media and the curating of our lives online came up in conversation. As a photographer, a great deal of my job is tending to a curated portfolio and social media. β β β β β β β β β

The beauty of platforms like this is the simplicity of putting beautiful art into the world and sharing stories that fill spaces with love.β β β β β β β β β

The beauty of being behind the lens, is so much greater than that. As a photographer, I get to be present in-between. β β β β β β β β β

The experiences I have with clients before and after I capture a snippet of time, these are the moments I cherish. No matter how many photos I share from a session, only the people who were present fully experienced the creation of that beauty with me.β β β β β β β β β

I can tell anyone that Mr. Wyatt, here, had the most energy of any child ever in all time, and I can share how his Mama and Daddy were absolute champs throughout the entire session. I can tell you that as his parents spun in circles trying to keep up with him, I ached to have the liveliness their little man radiates. β β β β β β β β β

Regardless of what I share here or anywhere else, no one will be able to relive the moments I shared with this family tonight. β β β β β β β β β

And I am grateful because it reminds me that I don't do this to provide a product, but I do this to create memories and to experience connection. β β β β β β β β β

Thank you, Erin, Jared, and Mr. Wyatt, from the bottom of my heart for sharing this evening with me. I love you three dearly and I am so eternally grateful for your smile.
