San Francisco City Hall is one of the most stunning locations to photograph in, and usually pretty busy with photo shoots. We waited a few minutes and got the grand staircase all to ourselves. Totally worth the wait.

Yosemite is a very very special place, especially for these two who got engaged in Yosemite, did their engagement portraits in Yosemite, and then got married in Yosemite! You really can't go wrong in the park, whether you're in the valley amongst the waterfalls and towering cliffs or up above looking down, and L + T did it all with their ceremony at Cathedral Beach in the valley, reception at their Airbnb in Yosemite West, sunset photos up at Olmsted Point, followed by a stargazing party at Tenaya Lake. Check out the last photo for one of my favorite Milky Way photos I've ever captured -- Half Dome is at the bottom!

These two cuties are just the best; they had me laughing at every turn. With their ceremony in the redwood grove at the SF Botanical Garden and their reception dinner at Angler, J + R wanted their wedding celebration to center around togetherness and amazing food. They generously invited me to join them for their fabulous multi course meal -- don't miss the shot of the dessert on the last slide, it was heavenly! Such a beautiful and joyful day surrounded by their loved ones. Congrats again J + R!

Absolutely loving the romance time period vibes these two were giving at their incredible Point Reyes elopement. With the beautiful trees and gorgeous coastline, the fog sweeping in, all of the elements were in place for a dreamy and epic day to get married. Congrats J + E!

Happy Halloween!! I cannot be more delighted to share a few sneak peeks from Saturday's wedding. These two monsters had the most amazing Halloween wedding with all their nearest and dearest in elaborate costumes. As we walked around taking couple portraits, almost everyone we passed stopped in their tracks to stare and then compliment S + B on their amazing costumes. I present: Frankenstein and his bride!

I'm a big advocate for: your wedding, your way. I don't believe you should feel pressured to plan your wedding a certain way just because that's how it's been done before. Your wedding is about you and your partner coming together -- everything else is details. And when it comes to your wedding portraits, there are so many possibilities for when you do them: on your wedding day, the day after, or again a year later on your anniversary! There are no rules that say you can't put your wedding clothes back on and take more photos whenever you feel like it. So when you're thinking about your wedding experience, keep in mind you can take your portraits whenever you and your partner want. This is YOUR wedding -- have fun and do what you want!

As much as I'm excited by the sunshine and the temperatures warming up here in the bay area, I'm still longing for some time to play in the snow. For this shoot, we had so much fun exploring Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake, finding the most beautiful winter locations to enjoy. This trip was my first time snowshoeing and I can't wait to do it again, it was a total blast! And it seems to me that especially when times are tough (globally and personally), it's important to take time to do the things you love with the people you love. It's important to try new things, go somewhere beautiful, take a break from your everyday tasks, and pause for gratitude for the good things in your life. And I take this approach when helping my couples plan their elopements, too: do the things you love with the people you love in a beautiful place that makes you happy, and give yourself time on your wedding day to stop and take it all in. I hope everyone can find some peace today, if only for a short time. Be safe and strong out there, everyone!

Happy Lunar New Year, everyone! I'm celebrating the Year of the Tiger (a year of strength and courage -- I'll take it, thank you) in part by sharing photos from my shoot featuring some of the beautiful new ao dai (traditional Vietnamese wedding clothes) by . I love celebrating all different cultures and traditions in modern weddings, but Vietnamese ones are a bit closer to my heart as my husband is from Vietnam. These wedding ao dai are seriously gorgeous and were a joy to photograph. Be sure to check out the new ao dai line at East Meets Dress and support women and Asian owned businesses this new year!
