This may be a hot take, but I feel like bustles aren’t talked about enough before you actually need to use them!!

I’ve seen a few wedding dress bustles come apart on the dance floor as a wedding photographer. It’s always been okay - we’ve either re-bustled the dress or safety-pinned it together where it fell apart - but I wish more brides knew about the bustles that would be holding their gorgeous wedding dress together while they’re jumping around to Pink Pony Club!!

I actually recorded a podcast episode all about dress bustles and their dance floor endurance … and when to consider bringing a reception party dress for just in case. Comment “90” on this post to get the link to The Busy Bride podcast episode sent straight to your DMs! Happy dancing 🤗

I think every single couple getting married should plan to have a private last dance at the end of their wedding reception 🫶🏼

Your wedding day, especially if you opt for a standard wedding with guests and wedding party and reception and all the things, is filled to the brim with goodness!! But all those fun moments - the group photos, mingling at cocktail hour, listening to heartfelt speeches, losing your mind on the dance floor - they don’t leave a lot of time for you and your spouse to have a grounding moment together.

One way to have a grounding moment is to do a first look and maybe even share private vows. Another way? Ending your night with a private last dance.

The noise of the day quiets down for the first time in hours. And instead of the lights just turning on after the last group song, they stay dimmed. And you and your spouse get to sway together to one of your favorite songs and just BE.

Because your wedding day can be a beautiful celebration of so many different people and things … but ultimately, it’s day one of your marriage 🤍

My husband and I did this and we loved it!!!! What are your thoughts? Does this sound like a good idea to you, or would you rather get one more group song in? 👇🏼

Getting my aura read by AURA PHOTOGRAPHY EVENTS & POP-UPS was not on my bingo card but WOW was it such a cool experience!!! 💛

Sara is the coolest and her business AURA PHOTOGRAPHY EVENTS & POP-UPS is sooo cool. She takes Polaroid photos that reveal your aura, and she is able to explain what all the colors mean!! She brings this setup to weddings and events, and I just keep thinking about how COOL it would be for wedding guests to get an aura photograph instead of a regular phot booth photo - talk about a memorable guest experience!! And you could even make a collage of your guests auras to have forever as wall art and an awesome conversation starter for dinner parties … the possibilities are endless. 🤩

Go check out Inner Light Aura as a unique and fun addition to your wedding guest experience!! ✨

(Massive thank you to The Makers Table for this connection!!! And Mackenzie Vaughan Pikaart for the cute handmade photo stand holder in the cover photo 🫶🏼)

Episode 88 of The Busy Bride podcast was a special one!! I got to chat with Mrs. Rachel Louis, a July 2025 bride who got married at Renault Winery!!! We had a such a great time recapping her super fun wedding day and her two year engagement … and how she changed her wedding hairstyle two weeks before the wedding with no extra trial 🤣🙌🏼

Long live all the magic - Michael & Michaela are MARRIED!!! 😆

Dr. Michael and Dr. Michaela (yup, you read that right - power couple!) were wed where they live, where they fell in love and where they got engaged: Brooklyn, NYC! Michael proposed at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens in April 2025 on the day of the Cherry Blossom Festival - the park was closed down for the occasion, so it was just the two of them as he proposed! Come wedding day, The River Café was lined with pink flowers reminiscent of their cherry blossom proposal. Michaela’s timeless calla lily bouquet and the stunning sunset were a perfect complement to the venue’s iconic flowers! 🌸

Michaela’s brother officiated their wedding ceremony, and both the bride and groom walked both of their parents down the aisle. (Family was of utmost importance to the couple - there was no formal wedding party, because their family was their “wedding party”!) Michaela stated in her vows that she accidentally described Michael to a T when she was describing her dream man to her friends before they met. She wanted someone gentle, thoughtful, kind, and fun enough to stay up until midnight with on Taylor Swift album release nights! 🤣🙌🏼

Taylor Swift was a wedding theme - Michaela walked down the aisle to “Daylight”, some guests wore friendship bracelets and their welcome sign read “long live all the magic we made,” a nod to Long Live. Their corgi, Riggins, was also a feature of the day. He made an appearance at the first look for a photo op wearing a tuxedo bandana, and a hand-painted figurine of Riggins was the topper to their cake! 🥰

The Manhattan skyline (paired with the perfect sunset) was a standout feature of this wedding. From cocktail hour on the patio at golden hour, to dinner with floor to ceiling windows at sunset, to dancing in the dark after nightfall, the skyline was the perfect backdrop to a magical evening. And not to mention the food … dear goodness, the FOOD!!! The River Café is a Michelin-star restaurant with impeccable service. The whole wedding experience - the joy, the views, the food, the service - was stupendous. A series of “pinch me” moments all day long!! ✨ Congratulations!!!!

It was legitimately a magical evening. We were blessed with a stunning gorgeous sunset over the Pennsylvania mountains and a dance floor buzzing with energy. ✨
