Spent the weekend chilling with my badass Vanadzoritzi ըnker and her mom. We went hiking on the Twin Fortresses Hike staked out by HIKEArmenia.
We went the wrong way a lot, but eventually walked along the plateau and down into Arevatsag Valley. Following a lunch break on the banks for the Dzoraget River, we made our ascent up towards the Village of Kurtan.
Some of the coolest photos I've taken were on this hike thanks to the fantastic weather and hitting golden hour just before the trail end. It was a difficult hike at sections, but overall quite friendly considering the terrain. Gabriel Alejandro AtjianRoza MelkumyanSashka Avanyan

I was lured out to Philadelphia with the promise of a day hike, and instead we went to Valley Forge. While I will never forgive the certain Brooklyn dweller who tricked me, Vick Bazarbashian made it great, and I got to play around with a fisheye that was given to me. No autofocus = a lot of guesswork, but omg that FL.

Thanks man! And sorry for the long photo upload.

If you ever wondered what a metal concert in the Caucusus looked like, here it is.

Took these for a newspaper in Yerevan, but we ended up past the publishing period, so they were just sitting. But this would be the first concert I've shot in a looooong time, so I wanted to share.

These are pretty old, but I thought it fitting, given the recent news, to show Artsakh, and all the good that is there. I'm not here to make a statement, or a condemnation, but instead just want to show a glimpse into this beautiful region, it's beautiful people, and why it's worth defending.

Day one was a long bus ride with a couple stops along the way, including the mountain peak nest of the Tatev Monestary.

Following our journey to Tatev, via the world's longest single-section railcar, it was off to Shushi for the night, where we met our incredibly hospitable hosts who (in my case) sent us to bed with some homemade vodka (called ooghi).

Next morning we awoke to a stunning mountain view, ready for the second day and a new adventure.

A couple weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot an interpretive dance performance, thanks to the talented and eccentric Apo Yaghmourian Shooting in extreme low light meant cranking up the ISO to dangerous levels, but lately I've learned to stop worrying and love the grain. With the harsh directed light, some of these shots look straight out of a studio shoot.

Thank you Apo for giving me a chance to try something new. Enjoy the shots.
