Ariell Johnson still remembers the moment she first saw Storm on TV — “the first Black woman heroine I ever laid eyes on.” 📚 That moment stayed with her. She went on to open Amalgam Comics and Coffeehouse in Philadelphia, becoming the first African-American woman to own a comic book store on the East Coast, at a time when there were only five Black-owned comic shops in the entire country. She later won an ADL Award for Inclusivity for the space she built. Representation on the page turned into representation behind the counter. ❤️
