In 2018, my phone buzzed with a Bumble notification. I had a nibble from a cute Nigerian girl. I wasted no time setting up a date. She was barely halfway through her second year of med school. I was barely starting my second year as a full-time professional photographer. She loved cats. I loved cats. I immediately felt that we could grow together.

Here we are now, tall as Redwoods. We’ve embraced and accepted all that life has to offer. The beautiful moments, such as cresting the Appalachian mountains at sunset on one of our first road trips. The terrors of watching you graduate med school during a global pandemic and immediately start working on the front lines. The curiosities ranging from “I wonder how many miles I can use on this flight” to “how old is that honey mustard in the fridge?”

All my phone had to tell me that night in 2018 was that things would never be the same. I found home.

Love you always.

Thank you to for the beautiful photos.

Well, it’s time. For immediate sale: my Canon 1DX MkII.

I have owned this camera since March of 2021, when I bought it from the first owner in mint condition with 5k frames on it. As it sits, it’s now approaching 184k. It’s touched the permafrost of Pikes Peak at 3am, been warmed by the sun of Pebble Beach at 3pm, and splashed with Sneaky Pete’s drinks at midnight.

The Good: Everything works. Everything. The camera is fully functional and ready to rip. Shutter life expectancy on these is 400k, there’s a lot of life left.

The Bad: I used this 1D as a 1D should be used. It saw dirt, mud, rain, snow, grass and pavement. A healthy patina runs along every corner and edge. Rubber grips are peeling in various spots. The back screen has a deep scratch. The USB tether port is a little loose, but still works.

The Ugly: I bounced this camera off a rock at Pikes Peak in 2021, a few months after getting it. The impact point was the memory card door, which was shoved sideways, cracking the body structure near the memory card ejection buttons. As a result, the memory card door does not sit flush, but still latches. I’ve used the camera this way ever since, with zero issues. It refuses to die.

You’ll get: Camera body, 4 batteries (2 oem and 2 Amazon), the charger, a 128gb cfast card with reader, a tether cord anchor, and whatever else I can find.

Asking $1200 OBO, located in Philadelphia. Happy to answer any questions. This is an honest camera that’s ready for to work under new ownership for years to come.

Josh, his fantastically clean S5, and a story.

2025 marks 10 years since my time as a specialist at .exton. At the time, the shop didn’t sell Canon, but we just so happened to have a Sigma Art 35 1.4 in Canon EF mount in stock. After trying it out, I was sold, and I threw down the cash for it the next day.

I remember bringing it home on my mom’s birthday, and taking her portrait with it as soon as I got out of the car. She was gardening, and that photo remains the most genuine and pure photo I think I will ever take of her (I’ll share in my stories).

All the photos in this set were taken with the same 35 Art that I bought a decade ago. It’s a magical lens, and I still swear by it. If you’re within driving distance of Exton, please check out .exton - great people with great knowledge. Wherever you are, support your local shop. So many photographers start and grow through their time at the local camera store.

I haven’t shared much on here from my time out west, so this seems like a good place to start. A one-off EB110 Sport Competizione that stayed put long enough for me to get to know a little.

The story behind this car is neat, as is the origin of the EB110 as a whole. Launched only a year after the official revival of Bugatti by Romano Artioli, the EB110 sent shivers up spines and ripples through car culture. This single track-focused example was destined for a run at LeMans in 1996, but never made it due to recessions and financial troubles that forced the closure of Bugatti in 1995.

A story about a photo that means a lot to me.

Many of you have seen me share various glimpses and a post or two about my recently-departed friend , who unfortunately left us last September quite unexpectedly. Nick was a car guy, he was actually the first car guy that I ever befriended. He showed me Top Gear, he inspired me with his stories of wrenching and driving.

As once famously said - “you can’t be a true petrolhead until you’ve owned an Alfa Romeo.” Nick owned an Alfa when we first met, he was that kind of car guy. He also lived in the Bay Area, so when I found out I was coming out here, I couldn’t stop thinking about how amazing it would have been to have him here with me.

The day before the Pebble Beach Concours was my birthday. I woke up restless and weary before the sun rose. Nick was particularly heavy on my mind that day, and as I tried to shower myself awake, I wept for the absence of my friend.

Once I found composure, I grabbed my camera and went for a walk. I didn’t have high hopes for a pretty morning, the forecast called for grey skies all day. However, as I left the hotel, the sky broke open and spilled morning’s warm glow across the quiet streets of Pacific Grove. I started to walk west, the sun’s embrace at my back encouraged me as I headed towards the ocean.

Walking along Sunset Drive, I listened to a morning filled with stillness. Waves crashed, sea lions barked, birds chirped. It was serenity, a perfect morning. After a few moments, I heard another sound, the sound of an engine, an Italian engine.

I turned just in time to see a white Alfa Romeo snaking towards me along the curves of Sunset Drive. Wrapped in the same warm sunlight that encouraged me to come to this place, it was a glorious sight, a sign.

Nick was there with me, in that sunlight, in that Alfa. That moment? It was perfect.

Miss you, old friend. Thank you for stopping by.

Bummed about the recent events at Graffitti Pier, what an iconic spot. A section of the pier collapsed into the water today, never to be seen again. Thanks for the memories old friend.
