Photography Studio + Gallery Gravy is a collaborative photography workspace and gallery located in Northern Liberties. Additional hours vary.

Our goal is to serve as a multifunctional space that promotes the work of local photographers. Opening receptions are held on the first Friday of every month. Please contact us to schedule an appointment or for more information.

Join us in the evening for an artist talk with Amie Potsic
titled Ritual and Resilience: A Photographic Odyssey. Amie Potsic’s Artist Talk chronicles the transcendent journey presented in her new book Seeker: An Extraordinary Photographic Odyssey in the Holy Lands. With fearless exploration, Potsic’s lens captured a unique perspective on India and Israel, defying stereotypes and revealing a resilience of tradition in dramatic color and compassion. Created during a year-long solo backpacking expedition across the eastern and western Holy Lands at the age of 23 in 1995, her work invites reflection on the universality and oneness of humanity.

Gravy Studio is excited to bring the creative energy of Philadelphia to The Photography Show presented by AIPAD this April in New York City!

We are proud to announce our participation as a Photobook exhibitor at the 2025 edition of The Photography Show presented by AIPAD the world’s premier fair dedicated exclusively to the photographic arts. Taking place April 23–27, 2025, at the historic Park Avenue Armory in New York City, the fair will feature an international lineup of exhibitors, including Gravy Studio’s curated presentation of 15+ Philadelphia-based artists whose work spans documentary, experimental, conceptual, and historical photography. We will be featuring work by Alexander Artway Archive, Amie Potsic, Andrew Piccone, Candace DiCarlo, Dale Rio, Jaime Alvarez, Jillian Guyette, John Waller, Kara Khan, Krista Svalbonas, KT Butterfield, Laurence Salzmann, Marianne Bernstein, Saleem Ahmed, and Zoe Strauss.

We are excited to be representing Philly under the Gravy umbrella at AIPAD, but we need your help! The costs associated with participating in an event of this magnitude are significant, and we are leaning on our community to help. We've put together several Gravy gift bags filled with swag from our participating photographers and from the Gravy archives. This could include a photo book, zines, prints, and who knows what else, all in a fancy, portable Gravy Studio tote bag! We're selling these at two levels, $50 and $100, and each contains a random assortment of work generously donated by Andrew Piccone, Candace DiCarlo, Amy Potsic, Katie Tackman, Laurence Salzmann, Jamie Alvarez, Zoe Strauss, and John Waller. Please join us next week for a First Friday celebration at Katie Tackman's studio: Butterfield Editions on the first floor of the Paradigm Arts Building in Old City on Friday April 4th from 5-8pm.
