Inspired by my one of my favorite classic cocktails, the French 75, I pulled this one together after dark. Using a long exposure and a flashlight as my only light source, I painted light onto the areas I wanted to expose. With the other hand I “grabbed” or held the cocktail for the shot. 1 + 2 = 3 >>

Building on the light striations from yesterday’s post, I built this still life for my work with and for this project (two birds 🐦🐦!) This brown paper background has become a favorite - the crinklier the better. No tripod today; just a whole lot of dancing around to Fleetwood Mac. Scroll for the jewelry shot >>

These grey winter days make it hard to motivate. I still have Valentine’s Day on the brain because we’re celebrating late around here so that pulled me through. This vignette provides a little dose of romance complete with Fleetwood Mac, love letter drafts, feminine ceramics, pink lilies and my favorite candle holders. day 1/100 of // I've long admired the discipline it takes to embark on the 100 Day Project. The project guidelines advise to be very specific when describing your new journey. So, as an act of self-love, this Valentine's Day I begin my 100 days of still life photography. I'll be managing the entire project from concept to styling to shooting to posting so as to fully immerse myself in the process. I am very accustomed to portrait, fashion and lifestyle photography so this will be a challenging and novel feat. I'll be using my to best execute the styling. I hope to learn more about composition, lighting, and how to make the junk around my house look cool ;)
