I feel like I can always tell how a wedding day is going to flow based simply on the energy in the getting ready area when I walk in at the beginning of the day + truly, these humans made it so easy to simply celebrate Sarah + Levi well. 🥰

Ok need miiight be a strong word here but truly, I’m always so thrilled when my couples tell me they’re wanting a second photographer. As much as I try to see + photograph every single moment that’s happening throughout the day, two photographers are just better than one!

In October 2024, I took the trip of a lifetime to Japan to photograph my best friend marrying the love of her life. It felt fitting to take all of my cameras with me, which of course included a few disposable cameras (for the vibes obvs 💁‍♀️). We had the privilege of doing some exploring around Tokyo + the surrounding areas the week before her wedding, + I hauled one of those little cameras with me but saved the majority of them for myself + their guests (family members + chosen family members) to snap photos with throughout the wedding day.

Needless to say, these are some of my very favorite photos from the entire trip. 🥰

Film has always been very nostalgic for me. My dad splurged on one of the best film cameras of his day way back in the 80’s, + he recently (after years of+ years of me begging for it 😜) passed it on to me. I’m SO EXCITED to learn photography in new ways with that camera + hopefully someday even offer film for wedding days!

And all because I made a last minute decision to grab a handful of disposable cameras to take with me to Japan. 🤍 Life truly does come full circle, no?

It’s the ‘small’ details throughout the day that get me every time. The seemingly unimportant moments, the flick of your dress, the smile wrinkles cracking from laughter of one of your beloved guests, the tuck of a hand into a pocket, the twinkle in your parent’s eye. These are the moments that make up your day, that tell the story of the start of your marriage. 🤍

Throwing it back to the ✨MOST MAGICAL✨ surprise proposal I’ve ever had the pleasure of capturing. Ryan had a vision of asking Anna under the twinkling Christmas lights +, despite the chill in the air, + a very well-meaning stranger nearly keeping me from photographing Anna’s ‘YES!’, it was truly one of the sweetest proposals I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing.

Anna + Ryan, I can’t WAIT to celebrate with the two of you again in May! 🤍
