Emily and Gideon flew across the world to get married in a Scottish castle in the rain with bagpipes playing and I have not stopped thinking about it since.

This is what destination weddings actually are! Not just beautiful backdrops and travel content (thought that is definitely a plus). It’s two people who looked at every option and said no, we actually want something that feels like us, something we will never stop talking about, something that could only ever be ours, and then they actually did it.

The castle, the moody sky, the rain that showed up uninvited and made everything more cinematic. The elegance of it all and the edge underneath it. That combination is everything I want to keep photographing forever and ever!

If you have been dreaming about getting married somewhere that makes people go “wait, you actually did that?” I want to be there with you. Italy, France, Scotland again, New England, wherever it is.

I only have 2 spots left for 2027 and I would love one of them to be yours. 🖤

The couples I work best with have a very specific energy.

They care deeply about their wedding but they don’t take themselves too seriously. They have taste and they have personality and they refuse to choose between the two. They want their day to feel elevated and intentional and also completely, unapologetically them.

They are the ones who spent months finding a venue that actually gave them a feeling when they walked in. Who have a playlist that would surprise you. Who show up to their engagement shoot in something that feels like them rather than something they thought they were supposed to wear. Who care about the photos not because they want to look good but because they want to remember how it felt.

They are not looking for a photographer who is going to show up and follow a formula. They want someone who is going to pay attention, keep up, and make something that actually looks and feels like their life.

They usually describe their wedding as elegant but with an edge. Elevated but human. Traditional in structure but completely their own in every other way.

If you just read that and felt seen, I have 2 spots left for 2027 weddings. 🖤

The most high-end weddings I’ve ever photographed were not the ones with the most going on.

They weren’t the ones with the most details or the most structure or the most people telling everyone where to stand. They were the ones where the couple felt protected, the day had room to unfold naturally, and nobody was performing for the camera because nobody needed to.

That’s what luxury actually looks like from where I’m standing. Not more of everything, but less of the wrong things, less rushing, less over-direction, less pressure to turn every single moment into something manufactured.

The experience has to be built into the day intentionally.

The right timeline, the right energy in the room, a photographer who knows when to guide and when to completely get out of the way. That’s what creates the kind of wedding that feels refined and personal and completely yours.

If that’s the kind of day you’re planning, I’d really love to be part of it. 🖤

Hi, I’m Katarina.

Welcome to a photography experience where punk rock meets black tie - which means I work with couples who want their wedding to feel luxurious and feel like them at the same time.

The ones who care deeply but don’t take themselves too seriously. The ones who are “extra but chill.” You know who you are. And if that’s you, I might just be shooting your wedding. 🖤

I’m based in NJ but I will happily travel for the right wedding. Vegas, Italy, France, the Tuscan countryside, the Scottish Highlands - tell me where you’re going and I’ll be there.

Here’s what I actually believe about this job: your wedding photos are not about how everything looked. They’re about how everything felt. The getting ready chaos. The way your person looks at you when you’re not paying attention. Your mom. Your grandmother. The people who will not always be there. I lost my mom and it changed the way I see every single family moment I get to photograph. I don’t take any of it lightly.

I’m not just going to show up and shoot. I’m going to help you build your timeline, scout your locations, fix your veil, hype you up, and make you laugh so hard during portraits that you forget you were nervous.

My couples don’t just get beautiful photos. They get an experience that actually feels like them.

If that sounds like what you’ve been looking for, I’d love to meet you. 🖤

Spring weddings have a different energy and I don’t think people talk about it enough.

The light shows up earlier in the morning and stays longer into the evening. Nobody is melting into the core of the earth. Nobody is racing the clock from the second they get dressed. The day just has more room to breathe, and that always shows up in the photos.

There’s more lingering, more laughing, more of those in-between moments that happen when nobody feels rushed or overheated or exhausted by 4pm.

The reactions feel genuine because people are actually present enough to have them!

I’ve shot weddings in every season and there is something so special about spring that you just can’t manufacture. It just shows up in the way the day feels - and then you see it in every single image afterward.

If you’re planning a spring wedding and you care just as much about how the day feels as how it looks, you already understand what I’m talking about. 🖤

who else is getting so excited for spring engagement sessions and weddings??! 🙋🏼‍♀️😍

Or maybe you’re feeling excited but also camera shy? I feel ya. The most common thing I hear when people inquire for a session or a wedding is “I’m so awkward in front of a camera.” Yah me too girl!!

But you wouldn’t tell your hair stylist you don’t know how to cut hair or your tattoo guy that you can’t draw, right? I don’t want you to be stiff. You won’t be standing there waiting to be photographed with no direction. I don’t want you thinking about your hands or your angles or whether your smile looks weird. That’s my job. I honestly hope you forget I’m there and just exist. Being in the moment will always yield the best results.

The truth is, if you’ve been believing your whole life that you’re “not photogenic,” that’s not a you problem. It’s a photographer problem. Your photographer should be creating an environment where you feel so comfortable that the real stuff just happens naturally. The candid moments, the in-between moments, the ones that 10 years from now are going to make you feel everything all over again.

That’s what I show up to do. Every single time. No forced poses, no cookie cutter galleries. Just you and your love represented in the most authentic way!

Whoever said fall is the most romantic season has never been to a spring wedding...

🌷🌸🌹🌼

Spring weddings have this energy that’s hard to explain until you’ve actually stood in the middle of one. Everything is in bloom, the light is soft and generous, and there’s this feeling in the air like the whole world just exhaled. Couples are relaxed. Guests are happy. And the florals? They’re doing the most in the best possible way.

Peonies (my personal favorite flower) are at peak bloom, ranunculus in every shade of blush and cream, wildflowers that look like someone just gathered them from a field that morning. Spring arrangements have this quality where they feel intentional and effortless at the same time, and that’s a really hard thing to pull off.

Florals have always been one of my favorite things to photograph at weddings because they say so much about a couple before anyone even walks down the aisle. The flowers a couple chooses are rarely just flowers. They’re a mood, a personality, a whole vibe distilled into petals and stems. Every single arrangement tells a story, and I never get tired of being the one to document it.

So here’s your takeaway: if you’ve been on the fence about a spring wedding, let this be your sign. The light is gorgeous, the details are unmatched, and your photos will look like something out of a dream. Spring 2027 still has a few dates open and I would genuinely love to be there for yours.

One of the biggest decisions couples make - without always realizing it - is their venue.

Your venue shapes the entire experience of the day.

The light.
The flow between spaces.
Where people naturally gather.
How calm (or chaotic) everything feels without trying.

That’s why venues like Bear Brook Valley stand out.

It’s elevated without feeling stiff. Thoughtfully designed, but never restrictive. The kind of place where the day moves smoothly because the space actually supports it - instead of fighting against it.

For couples who want something intentional, polished, and still deeply personal, the right venue sets the tone for everything that follows.

This is one of those places that lets you be present in your day. Where moments don’t feel rushed, and the energy stays grounded even when everything is happening at once.

If you’re planning a wedding in New Jersey and care just as much about how your day feels as how it looks, choosing a venue like this makes all the difference.

You’re not just hiring someone to take photos. You’re hiring someone to notice what matters before you even realize it does.

The way your partner exhales when they finally see you.
Your best friend squeezing your hand a little tighter than usual.
The moment the noise fades and it’s just the two of you again.

You’re hiring someone who can walk into a fast-moving, emotional day and keep things grounded, who knows when to guide, when to wait, and when to quietly make sure nothing important slips by.

The photos are the end result. But the experience is what shapes them.

If you want a gallery that feels like a glimpse back into the day, not just proof that it happened, let’s talk ✨

Happy Love Day!! 💌💘

Valentine’s Day always makes me think about the ways people choose love - not just once, but intentionally, over and over again.

Some couples choose it quietly.
Some choose it traditionally.
And some choose it boldly, somewhere far from home, in a place that feels a little unreal in the best way.

Vegas wasn’t about the spectacle. It was about freedom. About stepping outside the familiar and creating a day that felt intimate, electric, and completely theirs.

When you get married somewhere new, the experience matters even more than the plan.

You’re trusting someone to understand the light, the flow of the day, and how to move through an unfamiliar place without pulling you out of the moment. To handle the shifts and the in-between pieces so you can stay present with the person you chose.

That kind of trust is what allows love to actually be felt - not managed.

So today feels like a good day to celebrate the couples who choose each other in ways that feel honest, intentional, and unapologetically their own.

Happy Valentine’s Day to the lovers who do it their way. 💌
