ignited a nostalgia like no other with these Joey Wheeler Air Muscle 95’s. Had to dig my cards outta the archives to shoot these proper!!

It’s crazy to look back at these cards & realize they’ve traveled with me since childhood. I remember this old Asian couple had a card shop in the back of a Hallmark. I’d go there every single day & build my decks while I waited for my mom to get off work. Dueling tournaments at Toy R Us, reading Shonen Jump, & racing to the TV early on Saturday mornings to catch Kids WB.

WE REALLY HAD IT GOOD! & now, we get to experience a crossover where Joey’s shoes come to life from the actual show. It’s so crazy what’s actually possible these days.

BURY ME IN BOOST

A phrase I used to stand on when I haphazardly jumped ship to Adidas. Selling my entire collection for this style of comfort & hype. The Boost era backed by the influence of Kanye West will forever go down as a pivotal point in sneaker culture. Back then, I wanted comfort more than anything. You can’t tell me anything on the market was more comfortable than Boost, & that’s something I’ll stand on!!

BUT, what better way to welcome Boost back than to highlight a shoe that really paved the way for Adidas during a time that was so focused on its competitors.

The Cream Ultraboost 1.0 was equipped with a Continental Sole after the brand realized just how much we DOGGED the original 1.0’s. A necessary upgrade for a shoe that became everyone’s daily.

Aside from sneaker culture, everything was on the up & up during the 2015-2016 timeline. Music, Fashion, life in general was just MF BLISS. To the point everyone’s manifesting 2026 to be the new 2016 because I’m seeing all gas, no breaks from everyone lately.

After coming back to my realistic senses & reclaiming my love for other footwear brands, these & my Nice Kicks NMD are the only 2 to have stayed in my collection. As a reminder for that moment in time, crazy where a decade can take us.
