J.B. Rail Photog I enjoys taking photos/videos of trains and sharing other interesting content. It really all began in early 2016. Fast forward 30 years and here I am.

I discovered a local Facebook group called Louisville Railfanning. I had always been a railfan but actually being able to be engaged with local railfans was even more awesome. I always thought trains were amazing since I was 3 or 4 years old watching trains as they passed on the CSX CC Line through Corbin, KY, and Lily, KY, when they still had cabooses. I already had a camera and a couple lenses and occasionally would take pictures with my iPhone camera. Then I discovered spots locally where I could shoot (I already loved photography anyways) and then I discovered spots outside of Louisville, KY, thanks to others hints and getting to know people in this hobby. I started this page around March or April of 2017 and have built it to almost 800 likes. I hope to continue to be able to provide unique shots in a variety of neat locations and inspire up and coming railfans.

We're proud to support R.E.D.E.S.I.G.N. Alabama, a partnership designed to improve safety, enhance neighborhood connectivity and invest in the future of communities across Birmingham, Trussville and surrounding areas.

Planned improvements include new bridges and underpasses, better access for residents and emergency responders, and expanded rail infrastructure near Norris Yard to support more efficient freight movement through the region.

This week, Team NS joined federal, state and local leaders to celebrate an important milestone as the project advances into its next phase of engineering, environmental review and project development.

Seen with the Ohio hills in the distance, the C&O Railway's yard facilities at Russell, Kentucky, included a wide assortment of railroad activity. With examples of C&O power, infrastructure, maintenance-of-way assets, and rolling stock from the C&O and other roads, the sights and sounds of Russell represented the epitome of American railroading.

Big changes on the CSX LCL Subdivision in La Grange, KY! Track work is well underway on the new internal spur extension for Stainless Steel Midwest. Turns out they actually secured a grant through the state and KYTC to help fund the new turnout and track!

Previously, switching out cars meant using the siding across Hwy 146 and holding up the crossing. Moving car storage and switching directly onto their property is going to streamline operations and keep things moving smoothly.
