Ain’t no ball like S T I N G ball!

Year 2 with this fine group - I’m biased but I just love this bunch of kids and how they mesh so well together. You can always count on Owens to bring the jokes. The competitive nature of the Bohm brothers. Parr is an ace on the field, you can put that kid anywhere and he’s going to shine. All of these guys just have pure hearts and value friendship. It’s a joy to watch them.

We weren’t planning on nursing an injury with Jackson, but here we are.

As Jackson hobbled into the dugout on crutches, I was taken back a bit by how many of the boys were concerned about Jackson’s injury and how quick they were to bust his chops about the whole ordeal - like who gets hurt during pe kickball in the middle of baseball season!? My kid. My kid does lol

Anyway, some of my favorite images from tonight’s game in Lincoln.

This breed has won my heart entirely - Black Copper Maran

They lay the prettiest dark brown eggs in all shades of chocolate but they also have one of the best temperaments we’ve raised thus far.

Walker wanted to check the coop with me and was able to scoop these girls up one handed each.

Sweet & friendly. When they run up to you, they look like they’re wearing pants bc they have feathers all the way down to their toes.

Prolific layers. I can always count on them to put eggs in our basket and in your egg cartons.

Because I can’t tell them apart, we haven’t given each their own name. Instead, the Black Copper Marans collectively share a name - Donna.

If you have stopped by the egg stand, I can guarantee you’ve had one of The Donna’s eggs in your carton - aren’t they beautiful!?

*also, I know everyone is probably egg’d out from the holiday, but we’re loaded down with eggs - $5/dz, self serve, about a mile down on Nance from rt97

Also! Did you know, to make peeling hard boiled eggs a bit easier, pick the oldest eggs that you can get! And don’t forget to tap the “butt” of the egg with a spoon before boiling.

Some of my most favorite images of my own kids are of them playing in their room - a place that is so very familiar and comforting to them. The sound of laughter and the words of bedtime stories are forever embedded within those walls.
