Spring is a wonderful time to practice your flower photography. Go for a shallow depth of field (portrait mode on your iPhone) and snap away!

When you’re shooting an event, don’t spend so much time behind the camera that you don’t enjoy the moment.

When you’re taking pictures of children, make sure to get on their level. Even if that means you have to sit or lay on the floor.

When taking pictures, changing your perspective is a positive thing to do. Squat down or stand on a chair you’d be surprised how much that changes the photo.

When you’re taking pictures at an event, consider taking wide angle shots of the building or location where you are. You can also research if there’s anything interesting about the location make sure to shoot that as well.

As you take pictures, especially at an event, make sure to take pictures that show the location where you are, as well as small details that will make your picture book more interesting.

Reflections of a fluorescent light in basement floodwaters. Even gross and disheartening things can be beautiful if you have the right spirit about you! Beauty in the mundane is my favorite subject to shoot. (one is original shot, the other two have been edited.)

When you look through the eyes of your soul, you will see beauty in the mundane.
