Breaking Down Iconic: A Short Film Pt 1
Let’s get into these shots…
The beauty of filmmaking is finding poetry in everyday spaces. Every frame in ICONIC was intentional.
For this film, leaned heavily into low-angle compositions, shallow depth of field, and warm orange-toned color grading to make the construction feel cinematic and ideally, it became another cast member, instead of chaotic noise.
The dandelion intro symbolizing peace and serenity then jumping right Into the construction mayhem to the sun-flared conversations in the park, to the tight car frames and road closure visuals; every shot was designed to feel alive, grounded, and emotionally textured.
Construction barrels became production design. Detour signs became storytelling devices.
As a director and cinematographer, I wanted ICONIC to feel warm, nostalgic, and real like a community trying to build something meaningful while the world around them keeps shifting.
