Sixteen new pieces now line the halls of the at Busey Woods.

Feel yourself drawn into a doorway in the forest. Stare deep into the soul of a flower. Watch as worlds upon worlds open up as you look closer.

Find these wonders under your feet and in your backyard: nearly half of the photographs were captured at Busey Woods, just outside the doors of the center.

“Threads Together,” the multimedia work that Lisa Connery of Crass Stitching and I collaborated on in 2025, was selected as part of the Fiber February collective exhibition happening this month at .

Masterminded by .rugs , the show includes over 60 pieces from 35+ artists and OPENS TONIGHT from 5-9pm.

“Threads Together” is a collaboration about collaboration and the threads in life that keep us alive.

Mixed media: photograph on canvas, embroidery, embroidery hoops, wool roving, bark, found objects, batik velvet, beads, stones.

A single thread may be fragile, but when woven together creates strength:

Trees form vast networks through their roots and fungal mycorrhizae.

Hummingbirds build their nests using plant fibers, spider silk and animal hair to stitch a quilt of lichens for protection and camouflage.

Mosses cling to rocks with tiny hairs and hold their spores aloft on golden filaments as they spread into living carpets.

From Lisa's intriguing stitched and woven moss-scape, to Teresa's bug's-eye-view capture of a single moss capsule, to the lichens and bark foraged from nature, Threads Together contemplates the important connections that help living beings survive.

This weekend!! The will fill the Savoy Rev Center with the absolute finest artistic talent in the area. It’s an honor to have been chosen by the jury to participate.

Here’s why I’m so excited:

The collaborative 3-D multimedia piece I did together with will be on display and available for purchase.

I’ll have selections from multiple bodies of work, ranging from moody and mysterious to wild and vibrant.

I’m bringing my NEW wood panel prints.

It’s officially ornament season, and I’ll have lots!!

And finally, we’re concurrently running a donation drive to help .i.foodbank keep up with rising demand for food assistance. Follow the QR code on the last slide to donate!
