Fall photos. Take them. Schedule them.

I have to share this session from my fall minis taken a couple of weeks ago. The Oxley family has trusted me to capture their sessions for a few years now and I am so thankful to be able to. Our photography journey started off with action shots and now has become a tradition of yearly memories captured between birthdays and sports and more!

Take the photos because your children will never be this little again. Better yet, let your kids be kids. Shy moments happen and why not let them? You'll look at that photo and remember that was his/her phase.

When we work together I am going to give you the perfectly posed moments and all the "extras" that you wouldn't frame for your wall. Example: Checkout the last photo of this post where Tate really wanted to play with a stick and was pretty proud of it. Was he causing mischief while others were taking their turn smiling? Of course he was! Was he acting like a typical little boy would? Absolutely! Would I discourage it or change anything about it? Nope. He did his own thing and listened to me and to his parents and jumped in and smiled when he needed to!

Senior moments with Sydney! Every senior deserves to be celebrated and somehow Sydney hasn't been yet!

A warm summer evening in Springfield let us explore Lincoln Memorial Gardens. See that first photo? Right before it a deer walked through our session. Obsessed! I think that makes senior session number 5 for having deer join us. (definitely not upset about that)

Next up for Sydney - basketball session! I am so excited to help her celebrate her senior season and capture a session with her in the iconic bowl. Basketball may not have started yet, but my brain is already so excited and yet I would love to slow this year down!

The question of the day… Is what was I saying to my clients?

Most likely, I was probably explaining our next pose or the prompts that we were going to do. I may have honestly been telling them that what they just did looked awkward, and that was on me, not guiding them correctly.

Avanel and Grady have trusted me to capture multiple sessions and because of that we are able to joke and laugh over poses and silly moments that occur through the session.

Each session is a learning experience for both my clients and myself and for us to grow together and create beautiful memories to treasure for a lifetime.

This month has been busy but there are 4 sweet girls I need to celebrate!

The football season may be over for this group of girls, but the memories they made will last forever. It's a bittersweet feeling to know that the next time they arrive for a game they won't be on the sidelines but instead sitting in the stands.

Avery, Madi, Alyssa, and Gabbi - I am so proud of you! I loved capturing your football cheer senior session and celebrating this season with you.
