Some of my favorite things from David + Izzy’s day!

1. The kiss at the end of the wedding aisle.
2-3. How the venue space, made the perfect backdrop for the couples portraits.
4. Granny
5-9. The photo booth (and the bubbles!) 🫧
10. Dance battles
11-15. How friendly and fun the staff + guests were.
16. The “Hey Jude” circle at the end of the night.
One of my favorite “exits” ever!
17. A video clip from the “Hey Jude” moment. Sorry for my video skills.

So honored to be featured on the cover of your first ever magazine, Moonlight Pine Event Barn
🤍🤍🤍
If you’re in the Marion area, looking for a wedding venue, this is a great spot!
Also, don’t forget, I am still taking a select number of weddings in Southern IL every year as well! I’d love to come back and capture your big day! 💐

Couples, family and friends, we are SO excited to present to you our first Moonlight Pine Event Barn magazine!!!

It features the venue throughout the seasons, our pricing and packages and showcases the beauty of say “I do” at Moonlight Pine.

To our past couples who hosted their weddings here and to every photographer that shared their beautiful photos with us, Thank You! 🤍

Oh hi! 👋
I hope your Feburary is off to a fabulous start! We finally took all of our Christmas decor down, over the weekend, and have been doing some early “spring cleaning” around here. 🧽
As much as I loved easing into this new year and taking the month of January to rest, I am excited for the busy months ahead!
Here are a few things I’ll be doing in February (in no particular order):
🫧Traveling to TN for my nieces dedication
🫧Capturing 3 amazing family sessions
🫧Prepping for spring school + preschool portraits
🫧Celebrating my sisters birthday
🫧Second shooting a wedding with the talented
🥚Giving away a free engagement session on instagram
🫧Delivering galleries to clients
🫧Catching up with friends
🫧Finalizing a photo timeline for a wedding in March

Did you catch the Easter egg? If so, make sure to be on the lookout for info coming very soon! 🤗

It’s still so wild to me that these beaches were covered in snow last week! The temps warmed up in just enough time for this family session last night. Praise Jesus for sunshine and happy babies! 🙌☀️

“A $10,000 photographer can make a $1,000 wedding look like a $100,000 wedding” is a phrase that I hope dies soon and never comes back, especially for us documentary wedding photographers 😅 especially in light of the recent TikTok bashing of a GORGEOUS documentary photographer that just captured what was there and got dragged for it.

Yes, photography is SO important and hiring a competent professional is one of the most important things you can do BUT… your wedding is YOUR wedding. It’s unique and beautiful in every way, even if you don’t take out a second mortgage on it and your photos are going to reflect the realness of your wedding. We don’t want to make your wedding look like something it isn’t.

Here’s the hard truth: your $10,000 wedding is not going to look like a $60,000 wedding in photos, even with the best of the best.

Your design choices, venue, colors, DJ lighting that you choose, flowers, ceremony location - literally everything - makes your wedding photos what they are.

The most expensive photographer on the planet won’t make your average Joe (because let’s get real, that’s what most of us are) wedding look like a celebrities wedding because that wouldn’t be true to you or your event.

I have so many brides that send me inspiration photos and want to achieve X, Y and Z don’t realize how much time, money and planning went into the wedding behind those photos and all of those elements make a massive difference in your final photography product.

Not to mention brides that are stressed, frazzled and upset all day aren’t going to get those beautiful, organic moments if there aren’t any 😅

We aren’t magicians and I think the industry is moving away from curated perfection and into capturing REAL.

Be okay with your wedding. Be okay with your budget. Be okay with photos that capture YOUR day the way that it happened. Because it isn’t anybody else’s and expecting your photographer to make it something that it’s not is doing a disservice to everyone.
