📣New Gown Alert📣

We're all going to ignore the fact that I'm not wearing any makeup and that I really should have taken a min to change bras 😂, and instead, we're going to oh and ah over this gorgeous - one of a kind - pale, rosegold, satin gown!!!
She's long - I'm just shy of 5'10," and you can see that she's puddling on the floor on me. She's got room for a bust! She can be worn on or off-the-shoulder (with clear straps you can use for off-the-shoulder). She has a slit to mid-thigh on the right side. She's boasting a gorgeous 3+' train! AND, most importantly, to be a part of MY Client Closet, she is adjustable to fit sizes 4 - 16/18 at least. (I'll be testing her on a size 2 and a size 20 body as soon as possible.)
This one didn't come with a name, so I've decided to name her Maria. She's going to be amazing for Maternity AND non-Maternity sessions. So, who's going to wear Maria first?

So often, we photographers talk about the moms. And, truth be told, at least 90% of the time, it's Mom who books the session, plans it, communicates with us, etc. But every now and then, I have a dad reach out to me to book a family photo session. This one took it upon himself to book a big family photography session for his wife as a Mother's Day gift. But he didn't just turn it over to her after that; he was my contact person from booking through the session itself! That's the key, fellas: the gift of the session is amazing, but taking over the invisible labor (planning the date, location, and time, as well as being the point person for communication with the photographer) is a huge part of the gift as well!
And besides all of that, look at all three of those handsome grins! 🥰

As a photographer, I hear it & see it posted all the time, "but my kids aren't going to smile/look at the camera/cooperate/etc."
You know what? You're totally right - because they're human. You aren't going to be smiling or looking at the camera every time my shutter clicks either (take a scroll through this post for some great examples 😂). This is why I take so many shots during the session - especially with larger groups and/or when there are little ones (or a LOT of little ones in the case of this group). Photo sessions with multiple little ones (and even just one little one) are often lightly organized chaos - beautiful, hilarious, joyful chaos. But this is what you hired me for. This is what I DO!

You all know I'm rarely at a loss for words, but the story for last night's session by the Navarre beach pier isn't mine to tell. It was a perfect family session - filled with smiles, eye rolls, a lot of laughter, a couple of inappropriate gestures, and a few tears. And it was my utmost pleasure to be allowed to capture it!

These sweet fellas bought their wives a beach photo session as a Mother's Day gift to use on their vacation. How awesome...
