Really enjoyed walking beside this river. The sounds, smells and visuals were medicine to my soul. This river flows from the Rocky Mountain National Park. Colorado River head waters.

Cache La Poudre River originates in Rocky Mountain National Park, then flow north and east through the Roosevelt National Forest. Historical accounts trace the name for the Cache la Poudre River to early French trappers who were caught in a snowstorm and buried their gunpowder in a cache near the mouth of the river. The Cache la Poudre River is Colorado's only nationally designated Wild and Scenic River. The water level seemed low to me this year. Normally it is wilder.

Nice sized black bear on Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs this afternoon. He wanted to cross the four lane but turned and walked further into the brush away from the busy highway thankfully. Cell phone shots. I always get happy when I see bears 🐻.
