Brody is soon to be a graduate of the PYA class of '26!
We took his senior portraits last year at my garden studio and at the school turf to represent his time as a valued teammate on the PYD football team.

I keep a big, round straw bale as a feature in my garden studio because it makes a great prop. Why? Because it's so simple that it doesn't distract from the people, it's a symbol of Finger Lakes life, and it's just kind of fun to climb on.

I have taken your requests to heart and updated the garden studio to have new features that you will love for your family and senior portraits this year. The number one request last year was for a field of wildflowers and dried grasses, so I have a large section of the garden that is overgrown with tall grasses, wildflowers, and I am adding cosmos, zinnias, and bachelor's buttons for more color.
The second most requested thing is sunflowers. I love them, and last year's patch didn't survive, but this year's sunflowers are very healthy and thriving. There are hundreds of plants in this patch and it will be great for sessions around mid July, through August.
The big straw bale is always a favorite; you can sit in front of it, or climb on it. And for the end of the year, I have evergreens for Christmas pictures!

I am planting a small field of flowers and grasses in my garden studio plot, and my faithful, old Ella is trying to keep me company, even though she doesn't feel well. (See her hiding under the van?) Poor baby. The fresh air is good for her, though. She's just getting over a little bug, and needs extra rest right now.

I got to shoot something fancy!
A small, candlelit wedding, in an old mansion, on a rainy spring Saturday. What is more romantic than that?

The wild grape flower buds are popping out at the garden studio, which is my sign to get it cleaned up for the season. I'm so excited about some new flora features that will make your senior, child, or family portraits look amazing, especially a small field of grasses with wild flowers!

Sometimes you see someone's picture and you don't know exactly why it works, you just know that's the style you want. Those mystery elements are lighting and posing. We took Leeah's pictures at her lake home in the middle of summer, and on the Outlet Keuka Outlet Trail, in mid-day sun. It's not ideal, and we had to walk away from several ideas, but we worked with the bright sunlight (and my flash lighting equipment) to get these beautiful images for Leeah's senior portraits.

Now booking for the class of 2027.

We took Lia's senior portraits at her lovely country home, and chased the setting sun for just the right look. It was chilly that night, but you can't tell because Lia is strong, and she faked looking perfectly warm enough.

BTW - If you have a high school junior, it's time to book your senior portrait session.

Spencer wanted his senior pictures to portray his time as an athlete and student at PYA, so we shot them at the ball fields, and at the high school. What ideas do you have for your senior portrait session? Let's try something fun!
