Fall is here, and so are the sweetest little fall babies! 🍂🤎

Can we talk about how lucky these babies are to be born during the “BER” months? September, October, November, and December! 🥹

For me, this is the most magical and wonderful time of the year. The cozy colors, the holidays, the family traditions… and now, a brand-new little love to make it all even more special. 🤍

This pose isn’t for every baby — and that’s exactly the point. 🤍

Every newborn is different. Some babies settle into certain poses immediately, while others tell us very clearly: nope.

And we listen.

During our newborn sessions, we try a pose gently and if baby isn’t comfortable, we move on. No forcing, no fighting for “the shot.”

After 10+ years photographing newborns, I’ve learned that the best photos happen when we work with the baby, not against them.

Not everyone they love could be in the room… so they brought them anyway. 🤍

What started as a maternity session became a beautiful moment shared with family near and far.

Flowers, their little boy, everyone watching through Zoom… and a whole lot of emotions as they celebrated the baby who will soon make them a family of four.

This is why I love maternity photography that feels like your family — not just a beautiful pose, but a little piece of what this season actually looked and felt like.

I’ve been doing newborn photography for over 10 years, and I can tell you one thing: babies LOVE being curled up, especially when they’re wrapped. It’s familiar to them. After all, that’s how they spent months in the womb!

And trust me, babies are HONEST! If something bothers them, even something as small as gas or hunger, they’ll let you know!

That’s why I find it funny when people say we “force” babies into poses.

If forcing a baby to do something were that easy, parents would just force them to sleep!

These tiny humans run their households, and guess what? They run my studio too!

Baby is the boss. Always.

Yes… newborn smiles are real. 🥹

And somehow they always happen when you least expect them.

We were in the middle of her newborn session when she gave us this little smile — and for a few seconds, nothing else mattered.

These tiny expressions are exactly why I love photographing newborns. You can plan the colors, the wraps and the setup… but you can’t plan this.
