A few, brief moments of motivation-inspiration-imagination this week...the whisper of a recovery.

Longer and longer to regulate after an episode with Jude. Strong face in public and shambles at home. The passionate pursuit sits and waits, calling yet the pieces of the puzzle won't assemble. The brain is worn. The body is weary. Hope on the horizon but living the hair-trigger life. Eggshell peace.

A wistful Easter morn...

There was a time of cousins and running and laughter and shared experience.

There was a time of dressing and pews and song.

There was a time of health and freedom and untethered expectations.

And now there is just us. Just five. Locked in. Crafting an experience. Hiding the absence. Renaming the loneliness. Simulated gathering. Generated memories.

Grateful for each. The faithful, passionate husband. The brave and boisterous beauty. The hidden genius. And the sweet boy. Temporarily mine. All of me for them.

Wistful, perhaps, for the lost innocence of a life of normality. Beholden, though, to the transformative power, however difficult, that is Grace. That is Love. That is Life. Now risen.
