It's been a while since I addressed this but it's back in the news cycles.
Children's photos on the internet.
For context: The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals just ruled that privately possessing AI-generated CSAM depicting “fictional” children can be constitutionally protected when it stays within the home.
There is a lot more about the ruling that can be discussed but it's more than I can type right now.
While I am not a mom to children earthside, I am still called to protect the innocent.
I do limited family sessions, but if you are one of those clients or even a wedding client, I will continue to highly limit photos of children under 18 being shared to social media. The internet is not a safe place for littles, and even if we eventually ever have children earthside, I have already decided their photos will not be put out on social media. The cost of the risk is too great. I want children to have the childhood I grew up in, without social media and the internet using their images for click bait.
So if you have had a family session and are wondering why I've never shared those pieces to my socials, please know it has nothing to do with you, your session. I want to advocate with trying to protect your littles as much as possible. ❤️
Maybe this is the sign we all needed to focus on keeping childhood simple and safe.
