Swipe to see my senior photo from a decade ago… ✨
Ten years ago, I was standing on the sand at Old Orchard Beach, Maine, camera in hand (well, my mom’s camera), bright and early just after sunrise. We drove nearly an hour and a half to get there, and I had no Pinterest boards, no inspo guides—just me, figuring out how to even stand in front of the camera. My outfit was casual, my pose very awkward, and my mind full of trying to fit in, keep up with trends, and discover who I was.
Looking back, it almost feels like I’m seeing someone else. Someone who wanted to be “cool,” someone constantly comparing herself to others, someone still unsure of her own voice and style. Now, ten years later, I see how much has changed. I’ve learned to embrace simplicity, to slow down, and to find joy in a life that isn’t rushed or dictated by trends. I feel confident in who I am, rooted in my identity in God, and grateful for the journey that has shaped me. Every choice, every season, and even the moments of uncertainty have brought me here—to a place of clarity, purpose, and appreciation for the little things.
As much as I cringe sharing this old photo, it’s a gift. It reminds me of growth, reflection, and why I love photography. These images capture more than a moment in time—they capture the story behind it, the person experiencing it, and the years that follow. That’s exactly why I’m so passionate about senior portraits: to create photos that capture who you are right now, in this season, so that ten years from now you can look back and see both your story and your growth.
If you’ve ever dreamed of having photos that feel true, timeless, and warm—photos you’ll treasure for years—I’d love to help make that happen. Senior sessions are open for booking, and I’d be honored to create this kind of keepsake for you or your teen. 🌿📷
I’d also love to hear from you—what’s one memory from your own senior year that still makes you smile? Drop it in the comments below!
