If you have pride in your work… if you find meaning in your job, I genuinely want to hear all about it. And I want to capture you with my camera while you’re feeling all that pride and meaning. Confidence looks good on everyone. Here’s a portrait of a member of the Genoa Historical Association inside a threshing barn originally built in 1810. Disassembled and moved to its current location and reassembled 40 years ago, the building stands as an example of how early pioneer wheat farmers processed and stored wheat during the harvest. With two large openings on either side (providing spectacular natural light for portraits) the cross breeze that blew through the structure was a key element used to brush 🧹away the chaff once it was separated from the wheat. 🌾 Ingenious, effective design if you ask me. Sort of like a 19th c Roomba.

Our family vacation to celebrate my mother-in-laws 80th birthday wasn’t exactly romantic…until the moment I captured these total strangers from Philly! I was about to cross this Old San Juan street when I noticed them trying to take a selfie. The warm evening light, colorful buildings and leading lines… a great composition. So, tourist to tourist, I asked if they’d like me to take their photo together. It takes trust to hand over your iPhone over to a total stranger in the middle of a new city but and her husband could instantly tell I tell that I wanted the same thing: to capture this moment of beauty & love. It’s what I do. Thanks for trusting me, my fellow tourists!
