I have always had an appreciation for images that have come from space. Seeing something beyond a white twinkle in the night sky. In 2021, and I attempted the Orion Nebula from a Washington mountain top with very little ambient light. (2nd photo). Last night, with a full moon and the light pollution from nearby , I was able to improve upon what I had captured 2 years ago.
R5 with 100-400L at 400mm, f/5.6, 15", ISO 400, using a star tracker and stacking 10x images.

Came across this Barred Owl today in the backyard. I thought it may have had an injured wing, but it flew away when I checked again about an hour later.

Delicate Arch at sunset. The arch was completely packed with visitors while I was there, however with the right angle and a long lens, I felt like I had it to myself. Arches NP quickly became one of my favorite parks to visit and is a great representation of the diversity of the landscape of the US.

On my cross-country trip I stopped in a quaint "swamp walk" spot off the beaten path in Louisiana. I had been here about a year ago and found a Barred Owl perched in a hollowed out tree off the boardwalk path. I found the tree, but no owl. On my way back to the parking lot, an elderly gentleman that I had stopped to speak to on the path flagged me down, quietly but with purpose. As I approached him in his vehicle he pointed and said "Look!" Not necessarily the same owl as last year, but definitely a beautiful one, was perched a mere feet from a few vehicles and people walking by, without a care in the world.

What do you think is happening here? Is the Crow harassing and annoying the Red-tail Hawk, or is the Crow protecting its territory? I could do without the caw-cawing all day long by a murder of crows. 😏
