Long post, but hopefully worth a read...
A few weeks ago, Joel and I were asked to photograph a group of OHS Senior Football players. I didn't know a single one of them, so I didn't know what to expect. Sometimes, getting a group of teens together is like herding cats!
Once we got there, we knew this wasn't the case.
What a fine group of young men (and woman) they were!
From beginning to end...creative, respectful, friendly, cooperative, and just plain fun. Your parents and guardians should be proud.
Tonight is OHS Senior night.
I'd like to share a few words of advice that I shared a few years ago for our own Senior:
Tonight is Senior Night.
Your last high school football game.
Make it memorable.
After you burst through that banner for the last time:
Take a minute.
Let it all sink in.
Pay attention to the music.
Look at the lights.
Listen to the crowd.
The announcer’s voice.
Take a deep breath...remember that smell of the fall night.
Feel the chill in the air.
Remember the game...the plays, the grunts, the whistles.
Note your sideline conversations with your teammates.
Thank your dad.
Thank your mom.
Thank whoever got you to this point.
A moment like this will never happen again.
Make it the best night ever.
Take a minute...take it all in.
You’ll look back on it again and again...and smile.
It was a pleasure to meet you all.
I wish you the best.
