My dear, sweet friend in all her glory nursing her THIRD baby!! It’s always an honor to photograph the Ashmun family, who I first met during their fall mini 4 years ago.
This was such a special session documenting Maci’s third breastfeeding journey🤍✨

Highly recommended a countertop cake smash if you’re almost 1 year old isn’t a dare devil just yet👏🏼🎂
This cake smash brought a vision I had to life perfectly. Last year I took Reese’s fresh 48 photos. And now I was able to capture a lot of the same little details that have grown so much in a year!

2 things about this session- one, baby Violet and her big sis were the absolute sweetest. And two, this nursery was to DIE FOR🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

This session left my face sore from smiling so hard. I’ve had the honor of photographing this family more than once, and every time they bring so much genuine joy. THIS is the kind of energy you have to bring to your session to get those real giggles & smiles out of your littles. There’s no prompting to smile and look at the camera, just pure fun

It’s world breastfeeding week and I’m reposting last years photos. If you remember that post from last year, breastfeeding didn’t go as planned for me.
My heart still aches for the journey I didn’t have a choice in having. Anatomically not being able to do something as a woman and mother feels like a part of you isn’t a real woman or mother. There’s a void that you literally couldn’t fill if you tried. And I tried. I did all the things they say to help increase milk production. I was postpartum with my first baby, exhausted, anxious, and pi**ed off that my body didn’t work correctly to feed my baby. I felt like a failure.
I still carry the pain from this but at 16 months postpartum, I know I did everything I could and my son is happy & healthy. Although the majority of his nutrition came from formula, he still nursed for comfort frequently every day for 10 months. And it is the most amazing experience to have that kind of bond with my baby. So happy world breastfeeding week to ALL the moms. Weather on your journey lasted a week or a year. You did that.
