What a privilege to espy this gorgeous Toucan finally!! This bird is quite shy and loves to hide behind the signs and other objects when people come through the zoo. I found that if I talked to them, they became quite curious and were moving about their enclosure.... until someone else came near, and then they would hide again. This is the reason I love to go to the zoo at the earliest opening and I usually get a good hour of alone time with most of the residents before the crowds come through.
