Capturing love, happiness, and loss

Childbirth Doula I enjoy taking photos that evoke those emotions.

A photograph captures a moment in time; within that moment, there is emotion. From everyday life, to those once in a lifetime moments; I want to capture them all. The gift of Life, when a new baby enters this world. The intense work that a mother goes through; laboring her beautiful baby into this world. Those early moments when a sweet newborn breathes in this beautiful new world. The first time

siblings meet. The gentle embrace of father and child. The last embrace of family members before their loved one passes on. The moments before a casket, covered with flowers, notes, love filled trinkets, is lowered into the ground. The support of family members as they come together to celebrate and mourn the life of someone they love. I want to capture it all. I want everyone to see the hidden beauty in all of those moments, whether happy or sad. Let me capture them for you!

“Every man’s life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another.”

Enjoy this unmedicated homebirth video with no trending audio. I love watching as Mom surrenders to the birthing process and allows her baby to be born. Birth is so much about surrender, you can learn all of the positions and movements, but if you can't surrender to the process, it's going to be so much harder. I also think it's important to note how in between contractions, Mom was able to talk and laugh, this is normal in labor. Laughing, singing, and spending time with people you love helps things move along. It also doesn't hurt to have an amazing Midwife! As always, shared with permission, and I can't thank the women I have worked with enough! They allow me to share and show other women what Birth can look like!

It makes me chuckle when people voice their opinions about kids being at a birth.
I fully support a mom’s choice to include her kids, or exclude them! Sometimes the stress of kid chaos is too much in labor. But sometimes, the stress of your kids being with a caregiver and not in your home is ALSO too much in labor.

Trust women to know what’s best for their family!

These kids were so ecstatic to be a part of their sisters arrival, and then they practically fought over who got to hold her first (big sister won 🫢😂)

Do you wish your kids could have been there when your baby was born??

Today I was able to give Gulf Coast Search and Rescue 4 placentas!! (1 from me, and others from Midwife Lindsay) they were so surprised when I handed them FOUR!

These will be used for training dogs for search and rescue of missing people in LA, MS and AL! Such a great cause, and a great option if you aren’t planning on consuming your placenta. (I know a girl for that too, Brandi T | Mama & Birth Stuff)

The biggest blessing. I pray constantly that God shows me where I need to be. I am constantly pushed out of my comfort zone, but remember if I couldn’t succeed, God wouldn’t have me there. For someone who is a little awkward, likes to sit back and take It ALL in before I act, and hates phone calls and meeting strangers in coffee shops 😂🙃, God sure does push me into those situations. But, when I meet someone and they say they follow my page, or I hear I was recommended by someone…..unreal. I would not be here without Him. So here is to more uncomfortable, more late night editing, more sleep lost, more can’t keep up with all of the blessings in my life. Thank you God.

Outfit check because I would never dress this cute to go to a birth 😂 I went to a Career Day at a local high school/treatment facility today! This is my second time being able to go, and It was even better this time! The kids had the best questions, and I was able to spend time with Kianna Lane (doula and student midwife) educating them on childbirth and postpartum! We also got to show them a real placenta, and that was a HIT. It is so rewarding using the images I have been allowed to share to teach and show what birth can be!! If I can encourage and change just one persons perspective on childbirth, my job is done. Making a difference one birth at a time 🙏🏻❤️

How blessed to see women in a way so few get to. In her power, doing the hardest thing she will probably ever do, and her body and baby working together how they were made to…..hallelujah 🥹🥹🥹

I think it’s a right of passage as a birth photographer to constantly get my videos and photos flagged or censored for community guidelines 😂
🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ oops!

But, back to the video……I will *always* be there to support a mama, and get some great photos. The BEST plans. 😍🥹
