A late afternoon storm brought heavy rains and blustery winds to the Pasadena Peninsula downing trees, damaging houses, and leaving hundreds of homes without power.

The thunderstorm began around 4 PM Saturday and pounded Anne Arundel County especially hard. Weather stations recorded wind gusts up to 60 mph and 0.7 inches in Pasadena.

Though no data has confirmed the touchdown of a tornado, the damage had residents speculating. “[after the storm] We were riding around the neighborhood,” said Gus Kurtz of Paradise Beach. “[The trees] were twisted right off from the top or midway down.”

The damage to property is still being calculated, but trees have fallen on houses, cars, sheds, and more. High winds also caused boats to tear cleats off of docks.

The coming days will bring clean up and repairing the damage caused by the storm.

On Friday, 30 January 2026, hundreds of Baltimoreans took to the streets to protest call for ICE leaving he city. The crowd marched around the Federal Building at 31 Hopkins Plaza for nearly two hours, disrupting traffic in Downtown Baltimore.

This march was in direct support of the protests that are happening across the county and Minneapolis.

First real conflict in at a protest, and of course, I was in a bad spot to catch it.

As protesters marched against traffic on Lombard Street, a vehicle attempted to exit the parking garage. Protest marshals blocked the vehicle until police could respond and de-escalate, allowing protesters to safely continue their march.

After the event, many protesters decided to stay and continue calling out ICE abuses blocking the street. When Baltimore Police attempted to disperse he crowd, the protest marshals blocked their approach to allow the protest to continue.

Baltimore showed up and showed out.

Today’s rally brought out hundreds, if not thousands of Baltimoreans to the streets in protest of ICE and the abuses they are committing against detainees.

I forgot to post these yesterday.

On Tuesday, 20 January 2026, one year after Donald Trump was sworn in for his second term, hundreds of Baltimore residents gathered in Patterson Park to protest the Constitutional overreach of ICE. The rally included speeches from community leaders and calls for non-violent action to put a stop to the brutal actions of the federal government.

Went out on Saturday to see what was happening in the city and met defying gravity in West Shore Park.
