First shoot of 2025.
Such a good day shooting for

I remember thinking about the coming year and how great it felt to be shooting day one. Less than a week later our whole focus changed. Our city, Altadena, was burning. Evacuate the family. Pack the irreplaceable. Save our home.
We were incredibly lucky, more than many people we know and love. We walked the line between gratitude and greif as we helped as much as we could in our community. Donations. Cleanups. Feeding neighbors. Finding homes for pets and friends. Finding new schools for our girls because theirs had burned down. I haven't had the bandwidth to fully share our experience and how tramatic and disruptive it was. Part of me can't, knowing that others lost everything. And they still need the love and support and resources. I can't believe it's already been 6 months. I still flinch hearing a siren or even the whisper of smoke. I lost my home once before to fire and I couldn't believe that might happen again. Those days won't leave my memory any time soon. Hug your loved ones. -Josh

Honoring the memory of Tessie Prevost, a courageous activist and member of the New Orleans Four. Alongside her dear friend and fellow civil rights pioneer, Gail Etienne. Their bravery in the face of adversity paved the way for future generations. Rest in peace, Tessie. Your legacy will forever inspire us. 🌹🕊️

I cannot tell you how powerful this moment was and how honored I feel to have been invited into this room, by a stranger on the street to pay my respects. Gail shared her story with me, and I had the opportunity to hug her and thank her on behalf of my daughters.
Out of the respect for the moment, I had no intention of taking any pictures until Gail asked me to take this photo of her and her friend of 60 years.

My brother Jason has had a band for as long as I can remember. And he was always cooler than me. For someone who loved taking photos, growing up in LA with an older brother in a band created a great opportunity. I’m super grateful for him encouraging me to begin my journey, while experimenting, as we documented the trajectory of and now we make cool s**t together. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
