A successful trip to the locks and dams across the mighty Mississippi during February. Bald eagles gather near the dams to fish when temperatures reach freezing as they need an unfrozen body of water for food.

I really enjoy this specific photo for the beautiful contrast between the (almost mature) eagle and the striking colors of the background.
