I am a Colorado landscape photographer whose images of the raw beauty and quiet drama of the world around us are deeply rooted in my life-long lov

e of adventure and exploration. Whether hiking remote trails in the Colorado mountains, chasing golden hour light in the canyons of Utah, exploring urban architecture, or waiting for the sun to set along the Pacific Coast, I seek out compositions that tell a story and develop a closer connection with the world around us. Inspired by the diverse natural and urban scenes of the American West, my photography spans the landscapes of Colorado, Utah, Arizona, the Pacific Coast, and a variety of National Parks. My work has been featured in national publications and my fine art landscape photography prints are collected by private buyers, interior designers, and corporate clients across the county. I hope that the landscape photographs you see here convey at least a small sense of the majesty and wonder of these unique and special places and that you enjoy viewing them as much as I did creating them.

🔥 Smoke, light, and a sky that looked like it was on fire.

When I arrived at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon last summer, the Dragon Bravo wildfire was already burning on the North Rim — a fire that would eventually and tragically destroy the historic Grand Canyon Lodge. While the smoke didn't reach the South Rim directly, it drifted through the canyon in waves, particularly at sunrise. Some mornings the whole canyon was wrapped in a soft, glowing haze that turned every layer of rock into something painterly. Something almost unreal.
This was one of those mornings.

The pastel sky, the silhouetted formations, the smoke weaving between the cliffs — none of it was planned. I simply set up before dawn and waited. The canyon did the rest.

"Silent Currents: Sunrise Light and Smoke in the Grand Canyon" is available as a fine art print in metal, canvas, and acrylic. Link in comments 👇

What do you think — does the smoke add to the mood, or do you prefer a clear-sky Grand Canyon? 👇 I'd love to hear!

📸 Same canyon. 15 years apart. Completely different stories.

The top image — "Clouds Part Over the Canyon" — was captured in November 2010. I was driving through Grand Canyon National Park on an autumn afternoon when an unexpected storm rolled in, dropping rain, hail, and snow at the higher elevations. I had limited time that day, and I honestly wasn't sure I'd get anything usable. Then the clouds broke. Just briefly. And late afternoon light poured through and lit up the canyon and the storm clouds simultaneously. I pressed the shutter. That single frame was published in Outdoor Photographer Magazine in 2017, featured in their Behind The Shot series. One of the most meaningful milestones in my photography career.

The bottom image — "Grand Canyon Smoky Sunrise" — was captured this past summer, 2025. Same canyon. But this time, the drama wasn't from a passing storm — it was wildfire smoke drifting through the canyon in thick layers at sunrise. The Dragon Bravo fire had begun burning on the North Rim, and though the smoke hadn't reached the South Rim directly, it filtered through the canyon in the early morning hours, softening the light and creating a surreal, cinematic atmosphere I've never experienced at the Grand Canyon before.

Two moments separated by 15 years. Both unexpected. Both shaped by weather I didn't plan for. That's the Grand Canyon. It never shows you the same thing twice.

Both prints are available in the American Southwest gallery. Link in comments.

🌵 Welcome to the American Southwest. Your walls are about to get a lot more interesting.

Here’s a closer look at my American Southwest & Canyon gallery, a collection shaped over years of traveling through some of the most dramatic landscapes on Earth. No grand announcement — just an invitation to explore the places and moments that built it.

And it starts here: the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

There’s a moment — usually within the first 30 seconds of standing at the rim — when your brain genuinely can’t keep up. The scale is too vast. The layers too ancient. The light too unreal. Your camera can’t fully translate it, but you try anyway. And every once in a while, when the light lines up just right, you bring home something that stops you cold.

“South Rim Grand Vista” was one of those moments.

The American Southwest gallery is full of scenes like this — canyon light, desert quiet, and the stories behind each image. If the Southwest speaks to you, you’ll find plenty to get lost in. 🔗 Link in comments ⤵
