🚨THIS MIGHT BE CONTROVERSIAL but being a woman of faith and photographer sometimes means making choices that go against the mainstream in the industry.

My faith shapes more than what I believe on Sundays; it influences what I create, and where I draw boundaries. I’m not sharing these convictions to judge anyone else, but to acknowledge that honoring God with my camera sometimes means graciously saying NO to what is popular, profitable, or widely accepted.

🎃 Creepy Halloween photography

I love the fall colors, cozy sweaters, pumpkin patches, and golden-hour sessions. But I don’t feel called to create horror-inspired imagery or photographs that glorify darkness, fear, or evil. Some may see it as harmless creativity, but for ME it’s a no.

🤍 Bo***ir photography

I love helping women feel beautiful and confident, and I believe they are fearfully and wonderfully made. But I also believe marital intimacy is sacred, so I’m not comfortable photographing something I believe should remain between a husband and wife….even when it’s tasteful, artistic, or intended as a gift.

Not everything intimate needs a third person in the room. For ME it’s a boundary.

📸 Children’s privacy online

This is something I’m still prayerfully discerning even in my own life as a mom. Family photographs are so incredibly meaningful, but I’ve begun questioning how much of a child’s identity should be shared publicly.

Just because I have permission to share a child’s photograph, does that mean I should?

I don’t have a final answer on this yet, but I believe this deserves thoughtful, prayerful consideration especially given the current state of our world.

I’m not claiming to be a better Christian or photographer. I simply believe we can stand by our convictions without apologizing for them. Romans 12:2 reminds us not to conform to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, and that applies to business too.

I’m a believer before I’m a photographer. My camera, creativity, and business are gifts I want to steward faithfully. My goal isn’t to please the world ; it’s to honor God even when it’s unpopular.
