Itās been a busy start to summer in the very best way! š«¶š½ Between sessions, editing, and working behind the scenes on my business, Iāve been a little quieter on social media than usual.
One thing thatās been on my heart a lot recently is how I share images online. Iāve seen several photographers share their perspectives on posting children online, and those conversations gave me an opportunity to step back, evaluate my own practices, and really think through what is best for the families I serve.
While I always have permission from my clients, Iāve felt increasingly convicted about posting childrenās faces publicly. As a photographer, I want to do more than create beautiful images. I want to care for and protect the families who trust me with their memories. Iām always striving to provide the very best experience for my clients, and for me, that includes being thoughtful about how and where their images are shared.
Because of that, youāll probably notice a shift in what I share moving forward. While I may not be posting as many images that clearly show childrenās faces, youāll still see the tiny hands, messy curls, little details, and sweet interactions that tell a story. In many ways, I think this will challenge me to be even more creative in how I share my work and the stories Iām privileged to capture.
Thank you to every family who has trusted me to tell their story. It is something I never take lightly. ā¤ļø
