Heavy feelings over here. One of mine and Freyja's biggest fans has passed onto the next adventure.
Aunt Bert. She was another wild woman from Sutton, another auntie to many children now adults. Many not related directly other than the silty water that runs through our Matanuska Grown Veins.
Aunt Bert was a big supporter of me and my dreams and secretly funded many side quests of life for me and Freyja.
Her love, encougenent . Her dedication to showing up to every event I hosted for years all pushed me to keep going on some days I wanted to toss it all in.
One my favorite memories is when we had a powe outage and she showed up anyway and we painted by candlelight anyway because nothing was stopping her from her class come wind , hell or high water she was getting artsy that night. Our paintings where a mustard looking mess but we laughed so hard we blew the candles out once or twice.
Her memory will always be honored here in the Studio. Where we shared laughter and listening to her and her sister do what sisters do best and pick on each other while smiling bright and making creative messy masterpieces along the way.
Aunt Berts favorite was the Cabin in the woods and always wanted to have another go at it. So very soon I will host a night in memory of Aunt Bertie where we can paint Berts Cabin in the Woods and continue some shenanigans and keep the love and laughter alive.
