Have you ever had someone not be excited for you while you chase hard after your dreams?
If so, this post is for you. đ¤
So picture this: youâve started your dream business. Youâve dedicated time, money, sleep, blood, sweat, and tears. And youâre starting to see the fruit of all your hard work coming to the surface. And all of the sudden, out of left field, someone doesnât support what youâre doing.
Iâve had many moments like this. So, in an effort to help and love on you, I want to give you some practical tools on what to do if this is your reality.
My first piece of advice Iâd give to anyone struggling with this situation is to put blinders on. Iâm not talking about ignoring helpful advice like, âHey, youâre putting a lot of time into this business. Maybe itâs time to prioritize things better.â Iâm talking about those moments when people try to manipulate you to stop chasing your dreams because it doesnât align to the 9-5 American work routine. Anytime you feel someone not understanding and devaluing your dreams, kindly put those blinders on and smile while you keep on chasing your dreams.
My second piece of advice is to make sure your heart isnât looking for approval from others. Are you trying to be successful so that mom, dad, husband, friends, or family look at you and say, âWow! Thatâs amazing! SHEâS amazing!â Because that is the quickest way to lose steam and when those who approve decide to change their minds, youâre left floundering and wondering if what you do really matters.
And my third piece of advice is always make sure youâre aligning your dreams with Jesus. He calls us to seasons of being busy but he also calls us to seasons of being still. Maybe he wants you to keep going. Maybe he wants you to be still. Maybe heâs asking you to pivot because he has another plan. Keep checking your heart and surrendering those dreams to him. Heâll never let you down.
If any of this resonates with you, I hope you know that even if you have no one cheering for you, what youâre doing matters and you have so much to give. Donât give up because your dream doesnât make sense to someone else. It was never supposed to make sense to them in the first place. âşď¸
