My first ventures into photography began back about 1978 or somewhere there about. I was a newspaper photographer for several years and had photos picked up by the National Wire Service, and also did some commercial work . I did a record album cover for a gospel group and did lots of passport photos for a lot of people back then. I also did some pet photography and the occasional portraits for som
e folks, and while with the newspaper, I also did sports photography. I did all of this back then using 35mm cameras and shooting black and white film that I developed myself, and printed the prints in my own dark room, and for a year or so back in 1985, I was a videographer for WSAZ TV, doing news and sports in this area. Those were the good old days. You didn't get very many chances to make mistakes then, you had 24 or 36 exposures and you wanted to make each one count, and you didn't know if you got the shot until you processed your film. I moved away from photography to concentrate on a career as a professional firefighter and emergency medical technician for the past 25 years and then digital cameras got my interest peaked again. I enjoy nature photography, but I also have my own studio for portrait work and I have been asked to photograph the occasional wedding. I hope you enjoy looking at my photos as much as I have enjoyed making them.
