We would like to extend a tardy, but well deserved congratulations to John Vergotz Jr. who recently clinched his second championship in the Jr. Dragster Class Presented By: NW Photography at Thompson Raceway Park. John finished the 2017 points chase with an astounding 26 round wins, besting the second place effort of Gavin Cueni by 7 points. We are most grateful to be represented by a group of such talented young drivers. We would also like to take this time to congratulate the rest of our competitors on another excellent season of competition, and we wish them the best of luck as they head to Keystone Raceway Park in just two weeks to battle it out with the best of IHRA Div. 3. The ladies and gentlemen of the TRP Jr. Dragster program have been a force to be reckoned with in years past, and we are confident they will have a great showing again this year. Well done, gang!
This year was filled with tough competition, and incredible sportsmanship. Competition aside, it was without a doubt the toughest season for many of us as the TRP Jr. Dragster program said goodbye to one of the fiercest competitors it will ever know. Just two moths ago, we lost our brother, Josh Evans in a tragic motor vehicle accident. Mr. Evans was instantaneously a friend to each and every individual who was fortunate enough to be graced by his presence. With an infectious smile, and a cunning sense of humor that was second to none, Josh Evans dominated the class time and time again. After winning the inaugural $1,000 championship check that we presented, Josh was met with respect by many, and instilled fear in every competitor that lined up beside him. Josh will always hold a special place in our hearts at NW Photography, and the reasons are endless. We will forever be proud of his accomplishments, and the fine young man that we watched him grow into. Thank you to all who bought the memorial decals to support this young mans family in a time of sorrow and despair. We sold nearly 400 stickers, and each time I see one proudly displayed on a racers car, or out in public, it never fails to bring a tear to my eye. The racing community will never be the same without him, but we will do our best to make him as proud as he made us.
