Dreaming of peak spring greens right now as smoke moves in over western wa today. Captured this the day I I randomly met Tommy Houston for the first time near Mt Adams. Man what a full sender day to meet, hang out and get to know a new friend!

I haven’t been out on too many photography missions this year. But when I have been out, backpacking or adventuring. Conditions have lined up perfectly a few times. Here’s a stunning sunset I got deep in the alpines wilderness while scouting some new area for potential climbing development. Also hey two posts in 2 days, am I back posting regularly again? Only time will tell. Haha

May 10th 2024 was the first time we had pillars dancing overhead for most for the night. With the clear coastal forecast we decided to head to the beach. It was a spectacular choice!

Ever wonder what’s it’s like to be below a rotating Pyrocumulus smoke column? This is what it’s like. Simply daunting, exhilarating and devastating, all at once. This was taken yesterday in Northern Wa on the Kaiser Fire with Washington Weather Chasers and Jonathan Pulley

This morning between 3:20-4:00 my friend Mark Skaggs and I captured noctilucent clouds above Seattle! These clouds are the highest clouds on planet earth. I’ve been after this composition with them, Mt Baker and the Space Needle for close to a decade now! It felt good to finally get a heads up that they were out in Illinois last night so it felt like a 50/50 shot waking up at 2:30 this morning to drive out and attempt this image. I also have a 50mm timelapse of them over moving over the city I will put together eventually.

Thanks for looking I hope you enjoy this image!

A new edit from the May 10th show of last year! After awhile I find it easy to forget I still have unfinished comps from a major event. Thankfully I was able to edit 2 new images and I likely have a few more to finish from that incredible night! Here’s the start of a major substorm from the north end of Shi shi beach.

Hand delivering this years calendar to a few select local folks and hearing the feed back in person has been the absolute best this year! The continued support and personal connection from so many folks throughout the year really makes this worth while. If you haven’t ordered yours I still have calendars available. Link to my website will be down in the comments below!
