Sometimes I meet a couple and think we are going to have the best time on a wedding day...Emily and Bennett are one of those couples.

Pulling up to Emily's scenic family property, I knew the location was a stunner. I was so taken with the old world details of the dining room, the bright, airy garden room, and the fun and funky family bar. Beyond the hospitality (which I would give 5 stars to on TripAdvisor, btw), Emily and Bennett are so fun, and you can see how crazy they are about one another. I mean just look at the evidence!

Can't wait for wedding day!

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than sharing a preview of two people getting ready to spend the rest of their lives together 🥹

Kayla and Clay, I just love these! Even with snow on the ground, you two look so cozy with each other.

I'm a BIG believer in the power of physical workspace.

It's no secret that wedding photographers spend more time behind the computer editing than they ever do behind a camera. How do I keep myself (an ADHD'er) satisfied enough to sit still for extended periods? I ask myself the same questions I ask my 8 year old nephew: how can you make that 10% more fun?

For me 10% more fun means making vignettes in my work space that give me a short break without having to leave the desk. Having some of my favorite books I can flip through if I need a short break, my favorite headphones, a few beverage options (always a Diet Coke) are consistent. If I'm feeling festive--I light a candle for a lil bit of razzle dazzle.

How do you keep your workspace interesting for yourself? What are the non-negotiables for you to be productive? Most importantly, are YOU a multiple beverage kind of diva?

Getting engaged is EXCITING! There's so much going on that it can be hard to make level headed, informed decisons. Before you decide if you can trust someone to document your wedding day, you should ask these THREE questions about the most important deliverable...the wedding photos themselves.

1. What is the timeline for gallery delivery and how do you deliver wedding images?
Listen--every wedding photographer knows you're excited to get your wedding portraits! The key to making that wait manageable is clear expectations. The biggest disconnect I hear about from friends is that their gallery took much longer to arrive than they anticipated. When tehy thought 1-3 months, their photographer had envisioned 4-6 or even 8.

2. What can I do with my images once I get them?
Photographers have different rules here. Ask questions like can you print independently or only with the photographer, what is your ability to download, and are you able to share your images freely? If so, what are the rules around giving your photographer credit.

3. How long are my images backed up?
How long your photographer stores your images matters. Does your photographer hold on to them for a period of a year or more? Or is there a shorter timeframe? Are there physically stored copies on a harddrive and cloud storage?

I wanna hear from YOU! Which of these do you plan to add to your wedding consultations? If you've gotten married already, which of these do you wish you would've asked? Sound of in the comments!
