This was my second time photographing this family in Nebraska. Since then they’ve added a sweet little boy to the family and said goodbye to a beloved fur baby.

During the session, they brought out their dog’s paw print along with the photo I took of her at our last session. I wish I would’ve thought to take a picture of it because it was such a meaningful moment for me. It was a reminder that these photos become so much more valuable as the years go by.

I just adore this family. They’re so laid back, connect so effortlessly, and make my job easy. Seeing them again after three years and getting to document this season of their lives was such a gift.

Well, the past 12–14 hours have been exciting in our neck of the woods.

Last night was the first time we truly thought we might get hit. Prayers for our neighbors here in Sparta. Thankfully, it sounds like it’s mostly cleanup, but we’re keeping all of the affected communities in our thoughts and prayers.

A huge thank you to the linemen out there working in this mess to get power restored. We appreciate you more than you know.

And to my clients, every time tornado weather starts heading our way, I grab the kids, the pets, and my hard drive. 🤎 Your images are always in safe hands.

A momma always wants photos with her kids, no matter how old they get.

When was the last time you took a picture with your parents?

Call your mom. Tell her you’ve booked the session. Tell Dad to grab his favorite shirt (or whatever he’ll actually wear ).

I promise I’ll capture that genuine smile you don’t see nearly enough. I’ll find those little moments between your parents that remind you why they’re your safe place. I’ll capture the connection that might make you a little emotional when you look back on it years from now.

And Mom? Well… Mom might cry. 🤎

Because these photos aren’t really about today. They’re about having something to hold onto tomorrow. 📸

Lincoln! Thank you for the absolute best time and for completely overflowing my bucket. I cannot wait to show you all of the amazing moments I captured! I had sessions every single day, and some days even had two. My heart is so full, and I am forever grateful for each and every one of you.

Brody, thank you for rushing home, cleaning up, and letting me capture this season of your life. It makes me emotional seeing all of the little Cyclone boys growing up. It feels like just yesterday they were so little, and now here they are becoming young men. 🥹

NEBRASKA—finally, it’s time!

I can’t wait to see so many returning families and capture a new one while I’m there. I even get to photograph a senior whose family was my very first ever session years ago… and that feels like such a full-circle moment.

I’m especially excited to see my boss, a coworker I’ve never officially met, and so many of our caregivers I haven’t had the chance to meet yet.

One day, you’re going to have young adult children, and you’ll come back to these photos just to have a sliver of that moment one more time. 🤎
