Hi, I’m Lydia Perry; owner of Golden Leaf Photography and one of the photographers you’ll find here at the studio.

If you’ve been following along, you’ve seen a lot of paint, ladders, moving boxes, and “trust the process” moments lately. What you’re seeing here isn’t just a photography studio; it’s the result of years of hard work, prayers, support from this amazing community, and a vision to create something special in downtown Oxford.

While I own the business, this studio is about so much more than one photographer. It’s a space where our team can serve families, celebrate milestones, capture memories, and make professional photography accessible to our community.

We’re still putting the finishing touches on everything, but every day this place feels a little more like home. I am incredibly thankful for Amy, Carly, our families, our clients, local businesses, and everyone who has helped bring this vision to life.

Whether you’ve trusted us with your wedding, newborn, senior portraits, family photos, branding session, or you’ve simply liked, shared, and encouraged us along the way—thank you. Your support means more than you’ll ever know.

Today, Oxford gets to hear Sylvia Hatchell’s story.

A few months ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to spend several hours with Coach Sylvia Hatchell creating photographs that captured not only her accomplishments, but the person behind them.

We visited places that have been part of her journey, looked through memories, celebrated milestones, and even spent time with her sweet golden retriever. Along the way, we talked about faith, family, leadership, and life.

What struck me most wasn’t the championships, Olympic medals, Hall of Fame honors, or 1,000 wins.

It was Sylvia herself.

She is one of the most down-to-earth, genuine, faith-filled people I’ve ever met. The kind of person who makes you feel like you’ve known her for years after spending just a few hours together. Her love for God, her passion for people, and her desire to encourage others shines through in everything she does.

Today at 1pm, Sylvia will be in Oxford at The Wild Hare Bookstore for the release party of her new podcast, and I cannot wait to listen. If the podcast is anything like the conversations we shared that day, it will be full of wisdom, inspiration, laughter, and faith.

It was truly an honor to spend time with her and tell a small piece of her story through these images.

Thank you, Coach, for the encouragement, the conversation, and the reminder that success means very little if you don’t use it to serve others.
