Every wedding is different.

Even if every wedding were held in the exact same place, the people would be different. The details, the families, the energy, the way the day unfolds, it all changes.

I think that’s what makes weddings so special to photograph. You could photograph the “same” wedding a hundred times and somehow, it would never actually feel the same.

Because really, a wedding is the beginning of a family. A whole bunch of people, stories, traditions, and little details coming together for one day, and becoming part of the story your family will tell someday.

This one started at St. Michael Catholic Church in New Lothrop, Michigan. 💛

Pinterest is great for inspiration, but the perfect family photos? Those can’t be recreated. 🤎

Because those aren’t your kids. That’s not your husband. And that’s not the way your little one looks at you when you scoop them up or the way your whole family laughs when someone does something ridiculous.

The photos you’ll love most aren’t going to come from recreating someone else’s perfect moment.

They’re going to come from letting your family be exactly who they are.

The chaos, the cuddles, the belly laughs, the kids who refuse to sit still. ALL of it.

Use Pinterest for the outfits and decorating your home for in home sessions but let your family create the memories.

One day, your kids won’t remember whether everyone was looking at the camera, if their outfits matched, or if the house was spotless.

But they’ll remember the way you made them feel.

The belly laughs. The silly games. The way you held them close. The freedom to just be kids.

And someday, when they’re flipping through these photos, I hope they see what you already know: they were loved, exactly as they were.
