Ya’ll, when I tell you I almost missed this birth-I mean I ALMOST MISSED THIS BIRTH! At 6:55am this mama let me know she thought it was almost time to have a baby, at which I said I would start getting ready and head to Rochester. (A 45 min drive from Owatonna) I quickly nursed my own 3 month old babe, threw on clothes and grabbed my bag which I had packed the night before knowing things were moving! Before I pulled out of my drive way (7:31am) I got another text “I’m a 9 1/2 😳”, to which I promptly replied “I’m speeding!”…maybe I did, maybe I didn’t.🤫 Got into downtown Rochester to find a butt load of construction (8:17am) 😵‍💫 at this point, I’m thinking there is zero way I make it for this birth…I quickly park, grab my 20lb camera bag and, with my postpartum, very out of shape body, sprint across the street and up the sidewalk to the building. Security stops me inside asking for my name…huffing and puffing I tell them and let them know I’m in an extreme hurry 🥴 they give me the go ahead and I continue my sprint to the elevators and up to the delivery floor. I fully expected to see a newborn baby upon my arrival, but to my very big surprise, I had made it!!!! About 20 min. Later, this handsome little man made his debut!!! This mama was amaaazzzing!! What a privilege to be a part of his birthday! 🎉🩷
