Maddie’s Senior Session 🩵

I’ve had the privilege of knowing this sweet girl for a few years now, and she’s every bit of the sweet and sassy that she comes across. Responsible, hardworking, nurturing, fun, and always busy with something, I’m so excited to watch her enjoy her senior year and rock the transition to adulthood after the same way she did with these photos. 💕

A few glimpses at one of the sweetest families I know 💕.

I’m feeling so beyond grateful to be so busy this summer doing something I love for families & couples I love, but I’ve been having a hard time getting around to sharing some of the sweet moments I’ve gotten to be a part of! For now once a week might be the new groove, but there are lots of sessions on the docket for delivery and for sharing that I’m so excited about 😊. Now, back to editing 😅

Oops, I forgot they had to match 🥰

We’re SO excited to get to raise two little all-American girls! 💕 Life has been so busy I forgot to post, (but I did manage to find some time to shop, 😂) but amidst the crazy we’ve been just soaking up our last few months with just our Karissa girl and getting ready to meet her sister. 3 months to go!

(Plenty of pink is on the way, but I’ve been waiting all year to snag up the America 250 clearance deals 😁)

This is why I do this—it’s for moments like these.

I photographed Cam and Maddie for their engagement, then their wedding, and then recently got to capture their family. And man, there is nothing like showing up for someone’s next chapter when you’ve already been trusted with the last one. You know them differently. You know how they interact with each other, what makes them laugh, how they move together. And that makes everything easier and more meaningful all at once.

I know a lot of photographers niche down, and honestly, I get it. There’s wisdom in that. But for now, I haven’t—because this is the thing I love most about what I do. Not just capturing a moment, but getting to be someone’s photographer across multiple seasons of life. Getting to bond with my people and actually be there for every chapter of their lives.

And getting to watch someone’s story unfold—knowing I got to be a small part of preserving it across each chapter of it—that’s what I love 💕.

Some more perfect moments from Nate & Elisabeth’s wedding day.

I got to sit down and have dinner with them a few months before their wedding and it was one of those conversations where you walk away and think to yourself, “they’re the real thing.” Everything about their day was pure authenticity, so much love, a little chaos, and oh so beautiful. These images don’t begin to describe it 🤍.

Just a few of many moments from Elijah & Maggie’s wonderful, miraculously (partially) clear wedding day. Nobody wants to wake up on their wedding day to flood and tornado warnings predicted to last the entire day, but these two navigated it all with grace, from changed ceremony plans to taking pictures out in the rain. Thankfully the sky opened up for a wonderful evening, and these two danced the night away with their family and friends in an evening that was so very them, from the menu to their playlist. I’m so honored to have been a part of this day!

Mom’s annual birthday present, featuring some typical moments with the best uncles a girl could ask for 🥹.

We’ve been in New Jersey the last week and a half and it’s been so fun

to get a taste of “doing life” with my family for the first time in a long time. It’s so fun for me to get a better glimpse into all my brother’s lives as they get older, and beyond words watching them spoil and love on our girl so well. Safe to say I’m spoiled (but really Kari actually is getting a little spoiled… wish me luck when we get home 😬😂)

I absolutely love it when the even the smallest details of a wedding day come together to tell a cohesive story, and I know some of you brides have been dreaming of a wedding just like that! That’s a wonderful thing, but if you’ve been planning on doing it all yourself, you may want to consider whether you’ll really save money at the end of the day. The thought you’ve put into this day is so special, and you want to make sure the mood stays fun and light all the way through to your honeymoon.

If you’re unsure whether your day is a better fit for a planner or DIY, here are some helpful questions to ask yourself:
- Which details am I strongly opinionated about?
- Do I know of easy & affordable ways to DIY those things?
- If I were to buy all the supplies I’d need on Amazon right now, how much would that cost?
- Are there any supplies I’m planning to purchase that’s local wedding planner would provide?
- Do I know anyone who would let me borrow or have things from their wedding? Would I be happy with that or would it mess with my vision?
- Is it easier / less stressful for me to do this myself or pick up some extra shifts to cover the help?
- What aspect of wedding planning is stressing me out the most?
- Do I need to recruit lots of help in order to make my DIY plans work? Is that help being offered or will I have to ask?
- Does anyone I know have a planner they love or recommend?

The good news is, planner or no planner, the right photographer will help you map out a schedule for your day that will work for everyone and make things feel smooth and stress-free. That’s one of the biggest things I do with my couples before their wedding day, and it makes all the difference in my couple’s stress-levels on their day 🤍.

How has it already been a month since the most perfect couple said their vows? 🥹

Finishing up this gallery tonight and reminiscing about a few of my favorite moments from their day. These two have the sweetest chemistry and the purest hearts. Capturing their day was an honor 🤍.

Glimpses of summer in between editing sessions, including camping in the ADK with some of our favorite people, family time, and feeling so proud and grateful to live in this nation that so many have fought so hard to make so great, a place where even after two and a half centuries, families are still valued, small businesses still thrive, personal convictions are still honored, and people still have a voice. Thank you God for these people, thank you for this life, and thank you for America 🇺🇸.
