and sunlight tangled in their hair.
Let them chase fireflies,
follow winding paths,
and lose track of time beneath the trees.

Because childhood is not measured
in clean clothes or quiet days,
but in muddy footprints,
belly laughs,
and memories made before they knew
they were making them.
And long after they’ve grown,
