❤️Alouette❤️ (aka Loulou, Loubean,Lou etc etc)

Loulou (my partner's daughter) turned 13 last week!! I wanted to capture her glorious entrance into teenager-hood with a photoshoot.

She is, by far the most magical kid ..eek, i mean TEENAGER, i have ever met (not counting my niece and nephew of course).
She sings. She acts. She plays the violin. She is an incredible artist and she's got the biggest, sweetest, kindest heart ive ever seen !

Im pretty sure 13 is supposed to be a year of awkwardness and bad fashion, at least it was for me! But my goddess, this girl seems to have completely skipped all of that, she is just GORGEOUS@❤️

I am beyond grateful I get to be a part of her life!!❤️🙏

Last weekend I got to photograph Megan and her two adorable children, Owen and Odessa at my favorite place in Iowa, Pheasant Run Farm Sunflower Experience, In Belle Plaine!

Owen was absolutely terrified of my camera when we first began and for a moment, I was a teensy bit worried I wouldnt get any good images of him. But about 10 minutes in, out of the blue, this sweet boy ran up to me and gave me a hug, and it was smooth sailing from that point on🥹🥰❤️ That hug was honestly my favorite moment of this whole year!!🥰

Ive known Megan for a very long time, but its been quite a few years since we have seen eachother (Odessa was 2 and Owen was still in tge womb!). It was absolutely amazing spending time with this beautiful, silly, fun and loving family!

Sunflower shoots tend to need to be booked VERY last minute since mother nature controls the timing of when the flowers are going to be fully in bloom! If you are interested in booking a shoot at the most magical sunflower field in Iowa and can handle a last minute booking, please feel free to shoot me a messege!🌻❤️

🥰Sabrina's maternity shoot🥰
This shoot was pure magic and reminded me how much i love doing maternity photos!! I have shot at this location many times before, but never this time of year so i had no idea there were so many wildflowers there!!😍 This was also the hottest shoot ive ever done, we were both sweating like crazy and still, Sabrina managed to look absolutely radiant !!?!?!
I smiled the entire time i was editing these images, aside from how hot it was outside, it was so amazing to see Sabrina about to become a mama and looking absolutely stunning!! That pregnancy glow is REAL 🥰

Her hubby is in the military and is currently overseas, but thankfully we still found a way to incorporate him into the photos❤️

Congratulations Sabrina and Cody!! I am so excited to see photos of your little boy when he arrives!!🥰

Giant magical latern puppets. Drummers. Belly dancers. A stilt walker. A jaw-dropping sunset.An amazing little night art market with music and magic and a kids puppet show and SO MUCH MORE!
My favorite event of the year and it just keeps getting more and more magical each year!!

❤️Teras and Amy❤️
For the past four years, I have run a Pride month contest for a free photoshoot for the LGBTQ community, which means that every year, I get to meet some of the most amazing, beautiful souls, that I may not have met otherwise had the chance to meet ❤️
Teras and Amy were no exception. Just the most grateful, kind, and easy to get along humans.

I loved learning a little bit about their love story, i loved the hour we spent wandering through the forest together, and I loved witnessing the sweetness, silliness and, the purity of their love for eachother.

These two are fierce advocates for the LGBTQ community. They are parents and grandparents and just all around GOOD people. I could write a novel about how wonderful they are, even after only spending one hour and a sharing few handfuls of back and forth messeges with them!

Anyways, this Sunday is their two year anniversary of being together, and I am so grateful I got to gift them a couples session to help celebrate their love!
Happy anniversary Teras and Amy!! ❤️

🌈 Oskaloosa Pride Drag Show 🌈
This was our 2nd time having a Pride celebration in our small Iowa town, and thanks to a group of right wing conservatives who tried (unsuccessfully!) to stop it from happening, people came from all over the state in support of our beautiful LGBTQ community!! It was bigger and more amazing than anyone could have imagined ❤️
Unfortunately i had to work for most of the day yesterday, but i am so grateful I was able to make it for the drag show! I cannot remember the last time i smiled that much 🥰

*** 4th annual Pride Month Contest*** !!
(And discounted rate for members of the LGBTQ community for the month of June)

Hi friends! Im excited to announce that I am running another contest for a FREE photoshoot, STRICTLY for the LGBTQ community!!🌈🌈

The shoot must take place in the Oskaloosa or Pella area, but if you are willing to drive here for your shoot, you are welcome to enter from where ever you may be!! (I am approx. 1 hr 40 minutes from Cedar rapids. An hour 15 from des moines )

To enter, pick a number from 1-100, comment below with your number and what type of shoot you would like done!
Thats it! Easy peezy!!

On June 11th, i will use a random number generator to pick a winner and will tag the winner in a comment on this post!!

There are no real strings attached, except you must be ok with me telling you how gorgeous and loved you are over and over and over again ❤️

If you are uncomfortable with your images being posted here for any reason, ESPECIALLY if you are concerned for your safety due to the current political climate, i just ask that you let me know when we schedule your shoot. Your safety is more important to me than my "portfolio" and i am more than happy to keep your images off my social media and my website ❤️

For the discounted rate deal, i am offering $100 off of any regularly priced shoot, ONLY for members of the LGBTQ community, on any shoots booked during the month of June!! (shoot can be scheduled for another month as long as $50 deposit is paid upon booking!)
